WHO HAS TWO THUMBS AND PERMISSION TO REBOOT THE ASOBOT INITIATIVE?

THIS GUY!

*clears throat* In case you weren't aware, the Asobot Initiative was a service that would allow you to swap out cards from unloved sets and eventually earn a mastery. I loved the concept but sadly, it has closed before I joined. But I got permission to officially bring it back and I am super excited! \O/

The only bad news is that I'm starting the initiative from scratch. Sorry to anybody who wanted to continue from the old one, but people are collecting different things now and it made more sense for me to start fresh.

So come check it out! Donate dusty cards, suggest some unloved decks, and let's have a blast! :D

Contest Winner Banner coming soon! - September 18th Update!

Greetings from the Asobot Initiative!
Two very important things to let everyone know about!

1) You are now able to take "Nearly Completed Decks" in addition to any of the finished 20-card decks after you donate 20 cards to the Initiative. This will allow you to take a deck with 16-19 cards and finish it on your own. The downside is that you donated 20 cards and received 16-19 at the end. The choice is yours which deck is most important to you! Several players have already taken advantage of this new feature!

2) Until I can successfully compile some functional PHP coding for the new Activity List, I would like to take more time to ensure that any added Initiative Decks are not being collected by other players! Please recommend decks in this post that you think should appear as Initiative Decks! We'll use any that have no conflictions in the future. I don't want to step on any (more) toes!

Congratulations to [livejournal.com profile] chuukoku for the winning design for Akai as Goku! It'll be pretty awesome to see the Initiative with an appropriate Colors mascot! Great job!

Below were our super duper artists. You'll be seeing your works in the initiative, though the winner will get the fun reward of being on the main Initiative page! Please leave a comment here in this post to receive your participation rewards!

This brings the first (but maybe not last) Asobot Initiative Mascot Design contest to a close! My thanks to all for your votes, participation, and support of the Initiative so far as well as to the artists who stepped forward to the challenge! In addition, be sure to check out the alternative Open Fic and Art Submission post from last month that had an Initiative theme! Many awesome contributions were made!

Lucathia stated this before, but this is me wanting it to happen more! Feel free to ponder up your own ideas for spin-off characters, relatives, friends, you name it! There "are plenty of other colors out there, like pink or turquoise, and characters could even be named after fruits for the fruits levels (Mikan would be happy) or after precious stone and metal (Gin would love to have more companions)"! I've stepped forward and thought up sisters for both Kou and Mikan, for example, but i'd love to see what others think! Does the Colors crew have relatives? Friends? Classmates? Space travellers? Aliens? Anything interesting could happen! Use your imagination and show it off in the future with more Fic and Art for the Colors Universe!

Look forward to future contests! I suspect that there are a few in the works!
Muahahaha!

It's voting time! We have our submissions for the contest and now they're available for your viewing, and voting, pleasure!

As a reminder, you were asked to show off Akai cosplaying as the mascot of the Asobot Initiative. "You chose how far he went with his cosplay and how he would represent the initiative.
Some reminders for Goku's appearance (Monkey Typhoon / Asobotto Senki Gokū) were:
♥ Goku has spiky hair.
♥ Goku has pretty impressive sideburns.
♥ Goku wields a staff.
♥ Goku wears an armored top and gloves.
"It's up to you to decide if Akai is going all out for this cosplay or not! Will he look just a little like Goku? Will he look entirely like Goku? The choice is yours!"

Let's see just how creative people got!

Welcome to the very first Asobot Initiative "Design" contest! After coming this far represented solely by Goku, the Asobot Initiative is in dire need of a proper Colors-related mascot. However, we're not about to abandon Goku or Asobot as our founding idea and mascot!

Your task is to design a proper combination of Akai and Goku, namely with Akai cosplaying as Goku! After submissions close, voting will be open for 1 week. I will have entries up in one post where people can place their vote. The submission with the most votes will become the official combined mascot for the Asobot Initiative within Colors TCG and will be used in all of the update posts as the top banner. You must allow your art to be used in the TCG in graphics such as banners, icons, and cards, of course! However in this contest, everyone wins! All submissions will appear within the Asobot Initiative as thanks for your support in this contest.

It's up to you to decide if Akai is going all out for this cosplay or not! Will he look just a little like Goku? Will he look entirely like Goku? The choice is yours!

Other guidelines
♥ Your art must feature Akai (cosplaying Goku) from head to toe.
♥ Your art must be original and drawn by you!
♥ Drawings must be at least 600px wide and saved as a gif/png/jpg file. I will resize your image for voting, but I will also link your original and any extras you wish to include.
♥ Multiple submissions are allowed per member; however you must choose a single specific image for the contest itself. Variations are perfectly acceptable, but you can only enter with one specific image. You are free to include other views of the character, but I will only display one view in the voting post. I will link the rest.
♥ Send your submissions in by email to skyeacadia[at]gmail[dot]com as an attachment. Make sure to label the subject of the email with "Colors TCG Asobot Contest Submission - your name". Please include the name you use in the TCG since not all emails match up with names.
♥ Please do not post your art elsewhere until voting ends.
♥ Contest Submissions will be accepted from now until August 18th!

Feel free to comment below with any questions or comments you may have!

Edit: To be clear: All participants will earn participation rewards in addition to having their art featured. Fret not!

Some kind of banner coming soon!... - July 14th Update!

Greetings from the Asobot Initiative!

Considering that I, Skie, update most of everything related to Colors on Thursdays, I have now moved the Initiative's Update day to Thursdays! I'd love to know if you all would prefer seeing Initiative updates weekly or bi-weekly. Let me know!

Secondly, the Initiative is going strong! Get those donations in for the Pot of Gold; I look forward to seeing over a dozen people get the grand prize for Pot of Gold this month.

Some kind of banner coming soon!... - June 26th Update!

Greetings from the Asobot Initiative!

A happy Independence Day to anyone who celebrates it! Be sure to enjoy the fireworks whether on TV or in person. I know I'll be watching New York; they tend to go all out.

As for the Initiative itself: Not much to say for this week. Everything is still in the works!

4) Unique new things!
5) More decks to choose from!

Each and every Sunday, there will be an update posted for the Asobot Initiative. For this week, we do apologize profusely that we had to flood the Colors community page with posts, but there was no other way to get it all here. Also: Though your comments have disappeared, all of your participation is still in the logs! Lastly: The way that the Activity List functions has changed. Be sure to re-read the rules listed there so you don't misunderstand!
