This brings the first (but maybe not last) Asobot Initiative Mascot Design contest to a close! My thanks to all for your votes, participation, and support of the Initiative so far as well as to the artists who stepped forward to the challenge! In addition, be sure to check out the alternative Open Fic and Art Submission post from last month that had an Initiative theme! Many awesome contributions were made!

Lucathia stated this before, but this is me wanting it to happen more! Feel free to ponder up your own ideas for spin-off characters, relatives, friends, you name it! There "are plenty of other colors out there, like pink or turquoise, and characters could even be named after fruits for the fruits levels (Mikan would be happy) or after precious stone and metal (Gin would love to have more companions)"! I've stepped forward and thought up sisters for both Kou and Mikan, for example, but i'd love to see what others think! Does the Colors crew have relatives? Friends? Classmates? Space travellers? Aliens? Anything interesting could happen! Use your imagination and show it off in the future with more Fic and Art for the Colors Universe!

Look forward to future contests! I suspect that there are a few in the works!

Way to go! I'm especially stoked about all three submissions. I constantly laugh when I now think that Akai now has all three of these outfits hidden in his closet. He's the ideal candidate to represent the Initiative and he seems pretty motivated about representing it!

I participated! *hides* I drew the pic when my internet was down and didn't plan on submitting it at all, haha... but I'm glad I did and brought the entries up to 3! XD;

Hm, I wonder if I should put these under Akai-san on the Colors Universe page?

Had I not received these three (awesome) submissions, I would've considered extending the deadline in hopes of getting three. But you three did an excellent job! I'm still quite amused that you're the only one who actually gave him a weapon.

Also: Yes. Yes these totally should go with Akai's fanart on the Colors Universe. *Biased*

You actually mean I was almost the one who didn't even give him anything to hold. =P Because I drew it while my internet was down and didn't quite remember the guideline about him needing a staff, so that was added in right before I submitted the drawing. =P But wait, that's not actually a staff is it...

I SEE WHERE THIS IS GOING

so the next contests will be for secondary characters, so to speak?! 8D tales_fan and I have discussed it quite extensively, actually. I've plans to whip up some Akai/Aoi backstory thing for December (never too early to plan!!) and uh that's all I'm going to say for now as we're still toying with various ideas. XD But I do look forward to comments on those ideas when it's finished and released on Christmas. :D

Not necessarily; Lucathia has already said that she isn't so sure about contests for other "official" characters but she's encouraged the players to think up their own ideas for secondary characters and relatives. I know *i'm* ridiculously stoked to think up other characters!
