Hi players! How's you candy collecting going? If there still are some players you haven't asked for candy yet, hurry since tomorrow is the last day of the event! What next? Save your candy and you shall find out soon enough what you can exchange them for!

In other news, as you can see, this month we are getting a really high number of new decks. This is partially responsible to why the release is so late this month - the deckmakers were pretty much flooded with donations! To make sure that the deckmaking team can handle the amount of decks that gets donated without losing sleep, we decided that we'll be hiring at least two new deckmakers.

Do YOU have what it takes to be a deckmaker? Well, do you:
- only have MSPaint on you computer?
- find it hard to keep deadlines?
- absolutely hate group projects?
- only want to make decks from series you know and of characters you like?
- only want to work with high quality images?
- have very little time?
- think you might lose interest in this after a month or two?

If your answer to any of the above is "yes", you might want to reconsider applying, but if you still want to try, just PM me and you'll be asked to make a sample deck.

Last month we were trying out a new lottery system for scrapbooks. Which do you like better? Do you think we should stick to one or mix them up? Also, would you say that three scrapbooks per month is a good number? Maybe there should be more or less? How many scrapbooks per month should we have? I'm probably a minority, but I like the former system better (donating only to one of the scrapbooks, first come first serve), to be honest! That way at least you get to know right away that your card won't be in the scrapbook if you didn't make it in, instead of being IN SUSPENSE!!! until the release is out! As for the scrapbooks, lottery system works best I think. There's nothing worse than missing out on something because you were asleep when signups opened. As far as number, two seemed ideal, but given the size of the game three is probably better. Taking villains10 for my input.

OKAY SO i think lottery is fairer but also more confusing! i honestly like the first come first serve method better, but it also gives the trouble of some donations not entirely fitting a theme, or not being exceptionally good -- with people scrambling to just get a spot for it, AMONG OTHER THINGS LIKE NOT EVERYONE IS UP WHEN THEY HAPPEN, ETC. But with the lottery there's the factor of "only one character per series" becoming more complicated, because an entire series will be barred from being donated even if whoever donated it might not end up in the deck at all! My suggestion would be to have people comment in the posts without the donation, first, just to see who wins the spot -- and then once they're informed they won it, let them donate.

I think three scrapbooks is a good number! Any more than that and we'll run out of themes at some point, haha. Lottery seems more fair to people, since they might have been out/not at the computer the moment the post went up, and with the speed at which the spots are filled nowadays... Still, it wouldn't hurt to have a round of good, old first come first serve donations every now and then, just so people with less lottery luck (TRUST ME, I KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT) can have a chance, too!

I liked the way the scrapbooks worked this month. More often than not, I'm not on when those posts go up so I don't have to be lightning-quick to participate. I also liked the number of scrapbooks because if I couldn't think of someone for one, I have other options. As for the question...
I think we could use both systems so every other month we would do the lottery and then again the "first come first serve". They are both good in their own way after all. Although Delitan's idea also sounds worth trying. It might be a good mix of these two.
And I think 3 scrapbooks/month is ok. We might run out of good ideas too soon with 4 or 5 (even though I'm sure we could fill that many each month)

As for question. This was my first time donating something to scrapbook so I don't know how well or bad things worked with previous system. Lottery system is nice because people can make more donations and prioritize their favorite character/image if they want. But like some people has said here it might be a little problem when someone has donated to scrapbook A and B, and his/her image is used in scrapbook A and then his/her donation to scrapbook B isn't used and no one else can donate that character either. Then comes a question if that character can be used at all. So in the end I don't know which one is more equal..
I might say now that first system was better but the lottery system is good idea too. It just needs some modification. And I think two or three scrapbook per month would be good.

tbh i don't really have an opinion one way or the other regarding scrapbook donations since special decks tend to be super low on my priority list. i tend to save most of my scrambing for pictures and a spot for beauty pageants haha. but i think the lottery system seems more fair, in terms of time zones and availability. maybe have 2 lotteries and 1 "first come first served" scrapbook? and i really like delitan's idea of having the actual lottery first and then letting the winners pick their donations afterwards.

As for the scrapbooks, I think three is a good number with our current amount of players, it seems to be enough for most of our active players. Not all of them, but then again, not everyone will want to take part in scrapbooks, either.

Now, concerning the system itself... Both of them certainly have their good and bad points, the older system is less ambiguous but a speed contest while the new system gives the people time to plan out their donations in advance but can also block out series because of the "one character per series" rule or cause problems for unlucky people. I guess my ideas to improve upon this would be...

FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE
-Give priority to people who missed out last month and reserve something like... the first 3 days or a week or something between that for their donations. They don't have to rush so much since they're mostly guaranteed a spot while everyone who did donate last month will have time to think over what they want to donate and can get good quality images as well. If you tell the latter group when the donations open for them, they can also prepare for it. (or if that would seem too much of a speed rush you could divide all the slots that weren't taken by people who missed out last month with lottery. Or take them in many smaller submissions so all timezones have a chance.)

LOTTERY
-Remove the rule saying only one character from a series can be donated so people can donate people from the same series, but only pick one character per series for the deck itself. You can therefore risk it if you really want a different character from the same series someone else already donated or you could do a character from a different series and have slightly better chances of your donation making it in. And... uh, I dunno, can we help out the people who didn't get their donations in last month here too, somehow...?

I wasn't there for the lottery scrapbooks, so I didn't know they were a thing until just now! I'm a more slow-paced person, so I appreciate the idea of giving people a chance even if they're unavailable immediately after the posts go up, because I basically just assume that I will hardly ever make it into the scrapbook. So in that sense I think the lottery is a really nice idea and I'm glad for it, because it's not fun to feel like my chances to get in a scrapbook are killed by not wanting to HURRY DO IT NOW NOW NOW NOW

However, I super agree with what other people have said about how that might mean you randomly end up with 20 choices that just aren't as good for the theme as some you passed over. So, I agree with some of the suggestions that say that the lottery should be just for the opportunity to donate, and then after you're chosen you can pick which character you want to donate. Maybe one week to enter your name into the lottery, and then winners are chosen and have another week to get their donation in, and if they don't get it in in time, you can move on to someone else (you still have a couple weeks of the month in case some people drag their feet too long, basically)?

Oh, and I think 3-4 scrapbooks is appropriate for the size of the game.

as for special decks - i'm admittedly not a big collector of these, but from what people above me have said, the lotto system does sound more fair! i know how much it sucks to be out when something you want to participate is going up. i also think 3 scrapbook decks per month is a good number, as it gives options without covering too much at once. i'll take yandere18 for my reply!
