Welcome to the second day of our Colors Anniversary Celebration you guys! This is Gargant here, gosh learning all the DW usernames is hard. If you're struggling like me, be sure to head over to the Colors Friending Meme that's running on the trade community right now. I'll be sure to post there later too!

But now to the relevant part of this post, hahaha. The theme of this discussion post is...

Keeping cards!

Oh dear, how vague. By keeping cards, I mean cards that you've decided to keep hold of even though you're not collecting that particular deck. Do you have any of these? If so, tell me about them! Why are you keeping them? Do you just really like that character? Or is it an incredibly pretty card? Or do you have some other reason? Let's hear it! For newer players, or those of you who just don't have keeping cards, are there any you'd like to have in the future? Tell us your future hopes! (Heck, if you don't have any and really don't ever want to, just come and talk about that some. No one is being excluded here!)

For participating in this discussion you can get one of two prizes! You can either:

select one choice card from a deck you currently have no cards for, or
three random cards

You'll also receive celebration02, of course! As with all the Anniversary events you gave until June 31st to answer this post. Have fun, guys!

I do...in some ways. I have cards, esp those that I donate to scrapbooks, that I really like so I just keep them...by putting them into my future collection list first. Just in case I'd collect them eventually XD; I don't know I just like some too much that maybe when I have more cards (and actually trade at the trade comm), then I can master the respective deck. Though there are some that I like the series and is sad that the series isn't popular so I keep the card in hopes I completing the deck one day. Or maybe even mass collection if I feel like it and am able to.
Oh there's also those that I just hold on to too if they don't get away from me XD (The persistent cards want me to collect them so they keep appearing in the randomizer for me)
...hmm maybe I should go keep Birthmark then. Since by some coincidence I got both card 01 & 02 from the same game at the same time

Hahaha, I think you're more patient than me! I commend you. And maybe you should! It can be your special way of marking the anniversary >:|!

I keep thinking that maybe I should keep cards from scrapbooks and stuff that have my favourite characters in them but then I feel a little strange just keeping them on their own. I like completing things and the fact that TCGs focus so much around completing decks leaves me compelled to do so.

Not that that's a bad thing! I enjoy it. And when the deck's all finished I can archive it and then it feels like I'm keeping that card for real. So I guess right now the cards I'm keeping are all in my future collection pile since I intend to collect them sometime in the future.

I totally feel you on that idea of 'keeping the card for real'. I have all my collecting deck cards saved on my computer because that somehow feels more like I actually have them. It doesn't really make sense! But it makes me feel better in myself, hahaha.

I keep all the cards that I donate to the scrapbooks. Also several other cards from scrapbooks - when I like the card, but don't want to collect the entire deck, I just keep the one I like. Apart from that I keep Ousaka07, because it looks like Aru, and 7 copies of Cain03.

In my tyrannical need to collect all things SMT while avoiding Persona 3 and 4 as much as possible, I have acquired several keeping cards with Megaten content. They are part of the collection! THEY BELONG :[

I also have a super sexy robot, a sexy man who's apparently into necrophilia, a heartbreaking mech pilot, a sad Digidestined, a loser from Baten Kaitos (yay♥), a freak in a mask, and a couple of cool Pokémon. They are almost as cool as me.........................

I'm going to take Villains07 so ~~Alex~~ Arcanus can come site next to my Adepts deck.

my keeping pile is just cards from scrapbooks decks (that i don't wanna collect) featuring characters i really like or characters that don't have their own deck (and probably won't get). the pile makes me feel like i have a special display case idk I LIKE IT...

That mental image is so cute! I want a card display case too ;;! And yeah, for scrapbooks I like trying to submit characters who would be unlikely to get their own decks. It's nice to get that little snippet of recognition!

I have two at the moment: a Full Metal Alchemist card mainly because its been a while since I've seen the anime and still have yet to read the manga. Just one of those I'm not sure I'll collect especially with so many other cards I've got. But my other card my High Entia card I kept cause its pretty and out of spite that Xenoablade is ridiculous to get a hold of. I finally managed to snag a copy though so perhaps I may let it go, once I play the game. XD

I'd be keeping a lot more cards just cause they're pretty, I'm attracted to colorful shiny things a lot, but I made myself put them in my trade pile.

Honestly, I'd really like to collect as many decks as possible. Finishing loyalty is my first goal; followed by pretty much all of the current Personas and one of the upcoming decks which is of my second favorite character of that series.

I did just recieve a card, however, that is super pretty but idk if I'm going to go after that deck.

I usually keep cards, of decks that I'm not collected, just because I love the character or sometimes if I think the card itself is really pretty. I also keep a lot of my scrapbook donations too.

I keep some, if the card is pretty and I might end up collecting them later, but have no plans of collecting them any time soon.

And then, in case of Special Decks... If I'm not interested in collecting the full set, I just keep the cards that have my favorite characters in them. :3

I tend to do the same sort of thing when it comes to special decks. I don't generally want the whole thing, but there are lots of great individual characters out there!

Too new a player to have keeping cards, but in the future, I suspect a lot of my keeps would be for favorite favorite characters in decks I have already mastered but selfishness refuses to have me share, or those special decks in which that character is featured once and I can't bring myself to collect the rest. ...And because once they're mastered, I display only the mastery badge and don't get to look at the pretty cards anymore, hah!

I don't have a keeping section, but I might one day? I'd probably like to keep cards of characters I like from scrapbook decks, but I think I'd still be willing to trade them out to anyone collecting the whole deck? So it's not really keeping, is it... But for now, I'll put cards like that in my trade pile. I actually have some cards in my trade pile that I'd like to collect One Day, but right now I'm fine with leaving them there and trading them out. Though I might change my mind about trading scrapbook cards I like out and will have a legit keeping section.

I understand that feeling. I have a couple of things listed as keeping that I actually wouldn't be against trading away, especially if the person in question was quite close to mastering the deck or something like that. Semi-keeping, I guess!

I don't have any cards like these. To me, there's no character I like just to get one card of them... Personally, I feel like I either have to go all or nothing if I just like the card itself, and then I end up collecting a deck for a show/character I don't really like. ;;

I was about to say 'I can't imagine collecting a deck for a show I don't like!', and then I remembered my intention to submit a deck for Nina Einstein one of these days. And I'm collecting decks for characters from shows I have never seen because I use those characters to represent OC's and such. So I guess I'm not so dissimilar after all!

I absolutely, without any doubt, LOVE these characters. Two of them are my absolute favorite pokemon! But, these characters are just so perfect and great! uwu;

i'll keep cards from special decks if they feature a character who's one of my "babies." :,D but i also find myself keeping ones with characters i recognize if i like the aesthetics of them? i don't really hold onto regular cards unless i plan on eventually (even if it'll be one billion light years in the future) collecting the deck, so those don't count to me lmao.

i think i'll take the three randoms? that aforementioned holding section is already so large already. :,D

I do have a keeping section, but it's very small-- usually, it just has cards that catch my attention or cards from special decks that have characters I like! That, and one Cain03, but is that even relevant anymore...

Hmm... since I'm new here and haven't come across many cards yet, I don't have any keeping cards. I suppose I would keep some cards in the future if they looked amusing, shiny, or something of the sorts though!

I think the most common place to find keeping cards are in Scrapbook decks, which are special decks comprised of individual characters that all match a set theme? A lot of people end up keeping individual cards from those because they like the character but that character doesn't have or isn't likely to have their own deck :o

But hey, for now just focus on getting some cards, right? See where the winds take you! Welcome to the game, and I hope you have fun here :>!

Sometimes when I look at my keeping section, I get this sudden urge to just dump the cards into my trading pile... but they are so shiny... and so pretty... I can't let them go.

The cards I decide to keep are usually cards of characters that I really like or something I find amusing to look at (steak10). I generally like to keep any Graham Aker card that I have submitted for Scrapbook, and the reason why is because of this CD drama. C:

Haha I don't bother with a keeping section. There are several cards in my trading pile that I keep an eye on and would probably collect in the future, but if I like a character enough it usually ends up in my future collecting pile anyway.

I do still have all the anniversary cards I earned even though I didn't complete either deck, just because they're fancy-smancy event cards.

My keeping cards are at the bottom of this page.

For regular character cards there, I usually keep them because I would like to collect them in the super far future, but wouldn't want anyone to mistake it as something I want to collect actively right now, or in the near future. Some are even held for friends, if I remember correctly, or generally because they are pretty cards like

(or at least I think it's pretty, and I mean it's GIL)

For special cards, either they are the cards I have donated, or they have characters I like. The henshin cards are really cool, so I keep those too. :3

I tend to only keep cards if I like the deck or like the series. Most of my keeps are card I plan to collect in the future, though my card post is full of old cards. I don't have any newer decks unfortunately, since I was on Hiatus for a long time, heh.

I should probably do this myself! My keeping cards need to be edited around a little bit, I think. I don't want the cake cards there any more, and I'm not overly fussed about a couple of the others either. I have Masako there because I might collect here some day but I have higher Penguindrum lady priorities. But I wanted to represent her somehow! Cid is there because he was my favourite part of that whole game, darn the man. Ken Amada was my favourite character in Persona 3! I think I'll always be a little defensive of him, hahaha. And Elraine is from Double Arts, which was a wonderful little series before it was prematurely discontinued and ahhh, I really do like her a lot. I might collect her deck at some point as well, it certainly wouldn't be too difficult cough recycled art.

It's been really fun seeing people reply to this :>! I'm gonna take... chivalry01, I think! In celebration of my new enjoyment of this series, hahaha. And the celebration card as well, of course.

I am new and didn't realize keeping cards are a thing! If that's the case, I'd likely grab faint attack 11 and keep a hold of that because Absol is my favorite. >:U> There are other pokecards I'll probably keep a hold of for similar reasons but since I have One Absolute Favorite that is the one I see myself getting.

...And since I have no cards for that deck, might as well grab faint attack11 and KEEP IT FOREVER.

Keeping cards certainly don't have to be a thing! But I think Pokemon decks are one of the best examples of where people do like to keep hold of specifics. Pokemon are cool 10000% of the time, it is known.

I'm new here so in the future I would like to collect all the decks I possibly can. I really want to have all the decks from my favorite series/characters. If I do ever keep cards it's probably from things I've donate or cards I find pretty.

Usually if I keep cards tho it's because they're pretty ~~or blond~~, but more often than not I end up collecting them haha.
