COLORS CHAT #14

Sorry for the lateness!

It's time to sit back, relax, and pour yourself and ice cold glass of... milk. All these games are so great and fun but everyone needs a chance to just unwind and talk. So welcome to Colors Chat!

Here, you will get a topic and you can talk about it all you want. Just listen to your heart and write what you feel like. For your six sentences, you'll get 5 cards. And you should always go around and talk to people, see if you can make new friends or old friends with new light on them or you know, just talk with everyone! It is a chat after all.

Today's topic:
Your favorite gifs and reaction images, show them to everyone. Where did you get them from? What's the context, is it as funny as the image itself? Are you familiar with the source material for your favorite gif? Be warned that this post can get image heavy!

To encourage disussions between players, there's a bonus - for every conversation that is at least 5 comments long
all participants will receive two random cards.
This is not limited, so talk to as many people as you wish!

Please keep all comments civil and polite. You might disagree with someone, but please do not start a flame war. THANK YOU and enjoy your weeks!

This round closes on Tuesday, May 20th! I'll post the next round on time

This GIF is only really funny in a "people are still advertising their browser games this way?" sense, but it's the most relevant GIF I could find for what I'm about to talk about.

Viewing GIFS is an adventure for me because I have hearing-motion synesthesia. What this means is, a lot of GIFs will make me involuntarily "hear" things when I view them. In the case of this GIF, I hear three "sounds" - a film trailer-esque "boom" when the text is cut away, something that sounds like creaking floorboards at the breast movement and a heartbeat sound at the pulsing "PLAY NOW". If I cover one of these elements with my hand, I will not hear the associated sound.

Now, imagine browsing through a day's worth of posts on a Tumblr Dashboard with this condition.

Okay, that is an absolutely hilarious gif.
The boobs... they inflate. It's like they're balloons! OR THE BOOBS ARE BREATHING
I JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND

I don't understand it either, and this is supposed to make people want to play their game! (Then I hear the creaking floorboards and I start laughing again. XD)

Back on topic, I'm going to hijack the response to paste another gif give another example of what I "hear":

The most common sound I "hear" from gifs if they trigger a reaction in me is a "woosh". That's exactly what I hear with this one. XD

that's an adorable gif too!!
that kind of synesthesia must be fun at times... and irritating at others. i have some small hearing/touch kind, and even though its minor it can drive me up the wall sometimes. especially when people are being loud or annoying.
i can only imagine what scrolling tumblr must be like.

(also, another gif)

eeeeee i hear wobbling wait I mean--

Usually I'm not all that bothered my synesthesia, there are only two times when it annoys me: when it triggers on something like this (hidden by link for wrestler butt) and I think "WHY!?" or, more commonly, when it's on a GIF with lots of text. If it triggers on something like this, I hear the "suggested" words. These ones annoy me because they're the ones that feel most like I'm just imagining the whole thing. :|

Mostly for me it just gets really overwhelming. If there's a lot of noise, especially ones that sound... painful? I don't know how else to describe it, but like jarring noises, they don't usually physically hurt much or at all, it starts feeling like I'm cramped in a small place and it gets pretty upsetting.... That said, the times when I get good things from it are great. Like rain noises and pasta clicking on counters and things like that, that's always really nice to feel ♥

I think I follow you, even if I don't have this particular effect. It's always interesting to hear how things like synesthesia affect people differently! :3
