Welcome to the Colors Beauty Pageant~★! Last round was themed after the ever-energetic Mikan-tan, and all in all it was quite a quiet round! Could it be that not so many characters are prone to wearing the colour orange? Whatever the cause, this week's task shouldn't prove too challenging - I'm expecting much participation, all! Come along and see for yourself just what this week holds. Though first, let's take a look at the rules.

▪ Each round there will be one main theme and one/two bonus themes. Your image MUST feature the main theme! The bonus themes are, well, for bonuses!

▪ Please provide the character's name and the series they are from. If your image features more than one character, please specify which character it is you are submitting for Beauty Pageant!

▪ The character must be from a series that would be able to have a deck. This means only from manga/anime/video games made from East Asian sources.

▪ No fanart! Official art only, please.

▪ If a character is claimed by someone else, you can't use them! No, not even if it's a different picture. It's cheating to enter a pageant twice wearing a different outfit! >:O

▪ Each image can only be used once, even if it has multiple characters in it who fit the round. It would be cheating to let other players instant-win prizes for your hard work finding it.

▪ Prizes will be passed out throughout the round, so make sure you're confident in your answer before posting it! Once I've handed you a prize you won't be able to edit your response!

This round, our theme will be SWORDS.

▪ REQUIRED: Your character must have a sword.
▪ Bonus: Your character is in a modern-day setting.
▪ Bonus: Your character is wearing a hat and/or goggles.

Okay, so not a totally easy round, but how hard can it be to find characters with swords, right?! Sorry for all the samurai eliminated from the modern-day bonus, hahaha - perhaps the next round will serve them better!

PRIZES
Main Theme: Four random cards total.
Main Theme + One Bonus Theme: Six random cards total.
Main Theme + Two Bonus Themes: Six random cards and one crayon!

You can earn a total of six cards and one crayon per round! Good luck, all of you!

Kind of a nondescript background, but Justin from Grandia nails the sword and the goggles perfectly!

I assume from the name Justin this is a boy character? He's completely adorable ;;! And does indeed cover two themes, so six cards for you! Hooray!

I can totally still nail this with samurai JUST YOU SEE.

Some of the supporting cast of Samurai Drive, with hats and swords. The manga takes place in a modern day setting - an AU Japan that never enacted the sword ban and has some weird politics about samurai descendants but is otherwise basically the Japan of today in all respects!

o right I'm supposed to specify one, huh. Let's go with Kazue Souma, the guy on the left.

God okay and sorry for editing again, but in case you mean the actual background of the IMAGE needs to be modern too, here is a page with the same dudes. Fight about to break out in the auditorium at school!

Stocking Anarchy from Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt! She is wearing a tiny cute beret and...they're on the hood of a speeding car so yes modern day.

I submit Junpei Iori from Persona 3! He is the guy with the baseball cap standing in the back, using that big ol' zweihander like a baseball bat.

In case the image is confusing, they're in a (love) hotel.

Ryuhou Kamo (the one on the left) from K Project, holding a sword and wearing a jaunty hat. They're standing on a crosswalk and are all wearing modern (if of questionable taste) clothes, but I'm not sure if that counts.

Man, you say questionable taste and I'm just like 'gosh I would wear any of those outfits', hahaha. This does totally count, so! Six cards and a crayon for you!

Roronoa Zoro from One Piece! He's got three swords and goggles. Not sure if One Piece counts as a "modern" though... so just one bonus?

Yeah, One Piece is sort of a law unto itself really, isn't it? Following the precedent I set earlier, One Piece will not be counting as modern (although I realise now that "modern" was an indistinct specification, so I do apologise for that). At any rate, though, you still get six cards, which is pretty great!

Yep, looks good from here! I am actually going to play Arc games one of these days, although they more or less weren't released here in Europe. Ahhh, one of these days, though, I shall find a way.

I present Gilbert Brown from Nostalgio no Kaze, known in English as Nostalgia. (It's a very good game.) The setting is the 19th century, so it's not exactly modern, but he's got a sword and a hat, so there you go.

Man, I would play the heck out of this, hahaha, and DS games aren't region-locked so perhaps I even could! I DO NEED A NEW GAME...

But for now at least: not quite modern day enough, as you suspected, but this still gets you a nice round six cards! Hooray!

I love running this game, I always get to see the most bizarre, ridiculous wonderful things. THIS IS INDEED A SWORD-WIELDING HAT-WEARING CAT, and I'll accept that that is a modern ruined city in the background, hahaha, so full prizes for you!

As a series it's set in a more modern time period though, right? And that attire is fairly modern, so I think we'll call it good. Also that is indeed a swanky hat, hahaha.
