Continue the Story with Unown 1

This lovely banner was created by Kuri!

The Unown are known very well for all being in the shapes of letters but do they ever spell out anything? The answer is yes! In fact, Unown have quite the love for story telling! They've decided to search out players that can spin one fancy tale and wow them!

How To:
To start, I'll give you a subject that the Unown have decided they'd like to hear about. For now the characters used will be Colors Universe characters but later on in the game there may be different characters or series that will be picked or allowed. Your job is to write a 5-10 sentence paragraph using the subject and the Colors characters. Since this is the first round, The paragraph you write will be the start of the story. At the end of each round, a paragraph will be picked out as the official part of the story and the next round, Your job will be to write a paragraph continuing from that chosen paragraph. One single story will last 10 rounds. After that, The game resets and a new subject is picked! As a bonus, There will be 3 deck names picked from the randomizer each round. If you include them, You will gain one card per deck name used.

Basic Rules:
1. You may only respond once with one paragraph.
2. You'll receive 1 card for your paragraph and 1 card for each deck name used for a total of 4 cards!
3. The paragraph MUST be related to the subject!
4. The story will last exactly 10 rounds. The 10th round will be the ending of the story. Please be sure to remember that but I will do reminders!
5. If your paragraph is picked to be the official part of the story, You will receive 1 crayon!
6. Your paragraph MUST be 5-10 sentences! If it is not, I will ask you to add on or remove parts before I can give you your prizes!

Round Specific Rules:

Tobe-han was always looking for adventure, and today was no different. However, today it was raining outside, so that ruined his plans to go exploring. But, Tobe-han knew adventure was a way of life, not a location, so he decided he was going to learn something new. His stomach decided that something new was going to be cooking. So, he went to the bookshelf and pulled out a book on French cooking, and started thumbing through it. A lot of the dishes looked delicious, but he wasn't sure if they had some of the ingredients in the house. That and using some of the other residents' food could lead to shocking results... especially given Gin-sensei's new alarms on his lab fridge. But he thought he could make crepes without having to go to the store.

Mealtimes were always an adventure. Hardly a meal went by without some sort of mishap. There had been the time Gin-sensei's foray into French cuisine had devolved into live snails set loose all over the kitchen. There had also been particularly shocking time that Akai-san and Aoi-sama had managed to get five half-cooked pancakes to stick to the ceiling in a perfect semi-circle. Nobody else had managed to pry the truth about how that had happened out of them. And, of course, Mikan-tan tried to sneak oranges into everything, even when it wasn't her turn to help out in the kitchen. Today, however, was Murasaki-dono's turn, and she was determined to make this dinner elegant and refined.

Cooking was an adventure, or so Mikan-tan insisted, but Murasaki-dono wasn't really inclined to agree. She preferred a well-organized kitchen and a carefully planned order of preparation that let her flow gracefully from one task to the next; seeing Mikan-tan in action for the first time had been...well, a bit shocking, at first. But once she got over the near-fire on the stove, the copious amounts of orange food coloring finding their way into things that certainly didn't call for it, and the foolishness of licking the mixer before unplugging it, she'd accepted that Mikan would be Mikan, and this was the kind of thing they were never likely to see eye to eye on. It didn't mean she didn't value Mikan-tan as a friend and enjoy spending time with her, of course. So she steeled herself inside and prepared to take another afternoon of mishaps with dignity and elegance, as they flipped open the cookbook to pick out a recipe to try for tonight. They'd settled on the idea of French cuisine, but hadn't yet narrowed down their options any further than that.

"This is horrible!" Mikan-tan yelled, trying a bite of Kou-kun's first attempt at cooking for everyone. His face fell, trying to keep his composure. He'd tried so hard! He'd even cajoled a little cooking information out of Murasaki-dono. She'd told him of the most elegant types of food from so many different places: French cousine, Spanish foods, Asian delicacies he'd never heard of. That made him an expert right? It was shocking to see Mikan spitting his food out and fleeing from the now odd smelling kitchen. This was going to be a much harder adventure than he ever thought possible. All that was left was to try again!

This was it. This was day that Mikan was waiting for. Being the youngest wasn’t always the easiest and she was eager to prove herself by cooking up a delicious meal before everyone came home, and now that they were all out of the house...well, she didn’t know the next time she’d have a chance, so it was best to get started quickly! She tied on her orange apron and put on her cutest chef hat (it looked more like an orange somehow, but would anyone really be surprised?). After peeking around the corner to make sure Kurocchi and Shirocchi were still asleep, she pulled out the cookbook she’d been planning to use: An Adventure in French Cooking: How to L’Orange with the Best. Of course, she had already picked out the ingredients on an earlier shopping trip, so she turned to the page and went to her secret hiding spot to pull out the oranges, the main ingredient...but what she found instead was too shocking! All that remained were orange peels! How was she going to make a dinner for everyone without her favorite flavor?

The other members of the house would never admit it but they sometimes dreaded Midori~n's cooking. Akai-san would tell her to follow a recipe just this one time, but it was far more likely that she'd just throw out the French cookbooks, and for that matter all the others as well. No, she'd always insist on doing things her way. Tobi-han, on the other hand, saw all of her experimental, leafy dishes as a new adventure, sometimes to the dismay of his taste buds and stomach. Today, he found himself wondering what sensation, shocking or otherwise, she would bring to the table, and wandered into the kitchen in the midst of her preparations.

Gin-sensei was extremely bored today thus he decided to go on another technical adventure by experimenting with cooking machines. The results were shocking for the other Colors members, because for the first time in a long while - Gin-sensei actually succeeded! The only down side was that you had to order your food in French, or else the machine would not be able to understand what the food order was.

Sniff, sniff. A satisfied smile crept across Murasaki-dono's face as the delectable aroma of truffle-topped rainbow wagyu kushiyaki wafted from atop her grill in the Colors kitchen. This certainly scored as a success in culinary adventure, by her reckoning! Mikan-tan, ready to throw oranges atop the grill should Murasaki-dono look away for even a millisecond, was drooling at the sight of the food in spite of herself (i.e. the fact that food could smell that good despite not having oranges in it). "Isssh ssshoo sssshoocking though, Murasssshaki-dono," she salivated. The fact that words could escape her mouth in spite of the silly face she was making was quite the achievement, really. "I didn't figuuure I'd ever sssshhee the day when yooou'd be barbecuuuing ssshhooomething -- it doooessshn't seem classsshy at all." "Shocking?" Murasaki-dono grinned playfully. "Well, perhaps I could tell you about the one time I was given a French kiss by a mysterious stranger..."

Always one for adventure, Mikan-tan had decided to try one of her most daring feats to date - French cooking. Obviously it had to be something with oranges, so she had compiled a few recipes that looked good. As for how easy they were... well, it was shocking to her that recipes could be so complicated! But the prospect of an orange tart just couldn't be turned away, so she was going to try her hardest.

Needless to say, she needed some help with cleaning up the mess that ensued.

Potatoes, check. Cooking oil, check. Salt, check. Oranges... check! Everything was ready for adventure! Orange-flavored French Fries... Surely she was a genius for coming up with such a shocking yet delicious idea.

Well, that's what she'd thought at first, but a good cook knows when to stop following their recipe and when to listen to inspiration, right? Mikan was on her way to become the best of cooks, of course, and so she decided to ignore the potatoes altogether.

Meanwhile, Kou, who had been asked to make sure she didn't burn everything down, just gaped at her from the door while she tried to fry a salted orange.

Mikan-tan really wanted to try out this cooking thing. She had always been told that it was an adventure, and while she didn't know a lot about cooking, the idea of all of the things that could be done spoke to her. She could create her own shocking but delicious dish. She went to the store to pick up whatever ingredients she could! But none of them really worked together to make anything delicious—at least, they didn't until she realized that she could cook French cuisine.

There is no way this could end badly, right?

Cooking with Mikan-tan was always an adventure. While everyone knew her foods always had something to do with oranges, no one ever knew what she would come up with next. Everyone waited with horror on what the girl would come up with on the eve of Halloween. They weren't worried for nothing, because Mikan-tan wanted to plan a shocking dinner that would leave everyone spooked for the rest of the evening. She had no idea how, so she planned on asking some French - cooks for some ideas. Of course, she would be very determined to put in at least a few oranges.

When Gin-sensei entered his kitchen that morning the view that waited for him was shocking enough to make him freeze totally.
“…Mikan-tan, care to explain why are you dressed as French maid in my kitchen, and why is there oranges everywhere.”
Mikan-tan twirled around few times so Gin-sensei got a good view of her orange-white-coloured, quite revealing maid outfit.
“I bought that from online store named Sunny Adventure, isn’t it cute?! And the oranges were on supersale in grocery store so I thought I will bring you some!”
Gin-sensei rubbed his forehead and could only think two things; he absolutely doesn’t want to know anything else about that online store, and the word “some” isn’t exactly the word he would use to describe the mountains of oranges that were in his kitchen.

Cooking over the campfire was an adventure of all it's own, though it was certainly different than the one that Tobi-han was used to. It seemed like it should be simple to make a basic dish like french toast over the open fire, but his companion's intent stares increased the pressure by tenfold. Mikan judging the fun, Murasaki wrinkling her nose at his inelegant form and Gin eagerly awaiting the results of this new experiment. Of course, the more he felt the weight of their stares, the more he felt himself starting to slip up. In the end the first batch of came out completely charred on one side, the unpleasant scent that wafted through the air shocking no one.

Perhaps their next stop would yield better results.

The sun's earliest rays were only beginning to shine over the hills surrounding Colors Mansion when Kou-kun was already up and about. He had a task to do today, a dangerous but necessary one. He inhaled sharply and opened the kitchen's door.

...Thank goodness, the orange smoke was gone and the smell had mostly subsided over the night. The kitchen had been declared a hazard zone yesterday after Mikan-tan made a shocking announcement by declaring she'd make dinner for everyone. The resulting food was colored a radioactive shade of orange and seemed ready to leap out of the plate and strangle its eater but no one had had the heart to say no to Mikan's innocently helpful smile.

Tobi-han, looking somewhat green instead of his usual brown, had rushed out of the door mumbling something about adventure calling, Murasaki-dono retreated into her room whispering something about French takeout and Aoi-sama was probably still furiously trying to meditate the stomach pains away. And then the stove had caught on fire before Kou-kun got to try, and...

...well, the residents of Colors Mansion hadn't had a very good evening, so it was time to cheer them up with a nice, yellow breakfast. Kou-kun stepped into the room and headed straight for the kitchen counter.

Today was a wonderful day at school for Mikan! It was bright and sunny outside, and her classes seemed shorter than usual. Finally, her last class rolled around, and ... Gin-sensei had to fill in for the home-ec teacher!? Talk about shocking!! She glanced at Kou and Tobi, but they just shrugged.

"Today, we are going on an adventure! We're going to make a variety of French food," Gin-sensei said, which surprised Mikan quite a bit. She didn't know he liked that kind of food.

Today was a weird day for Mikan, but even though it was such a different experience for her, she still had fun with the rest of her classmates!
