Anniversary Day 10

Day 10, we're halfway there ~~livin' on a-- /rolls out~~. Today's topic is clothes!

Some characters wear the same outfit in every episode but others change frequently. Who draws the best clothes? Which character do you think has the best style? Anyone you'd gladly undress just to get their clothes for yourself? Or maybe you've cosplayed as them already, was it hard to recreate their outfits? For answering this question, you'll get two random cards of a color of your choosing and celebration10. Please include the color you'd like your prizes to be in your comment.

Just like other Anniversary games, this one will close on June 30th!

I've always really liked Square Enix's characters' outfits--some are really vibrant and some are more neutral, but they're all beautiful. I especially have a weak spot for Vanille and Aqua's clothes, but I love anything Square Enix designs, really!

Assassin's Creed outfits are also gorgeous, but hard to make. I recently made Cristina Vespucci and Ezio Auditore's outfits for my boyfriend and me, and they were hard but super fun to make!

Oh there are plenty of characters I'd undress but not necessarily for their clothing--

Anyway! I really have a thing for school uniforms! Especially gakuran. They're pretty plain looking, I'll admit, but I enjoy seeing guys and girls alike dressed in them!

I really like lolita fashion! They're not something I'd want to wear myself, but I think cute, elaborate dresses and the like are really nice. I can't specifically think of a single character whose fashion stands out to me, but I do love it when characters get to switch up outfits in-series all the time. Cardcaptor Sakura had lots of cute outfits, and I also enjoy the wardrobes of Sheryl from Macross Frontier and Kotori from Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal, off the top of my head...

O-oh gosh clothing is like... the thing I pay attention to the least in a series haha. So admittedly I don't really have any favorite outfits for any one character, nor do I really have any series where I think the costumes are THE BEST!1 or anything. I am sadly extremely fashion illiterate. Though I will admit that I've always enjoyed the outfits found in Final Fantasy games.

I'd undress like half - if not all - of magical girls and idols, just to get their clothes. Ichigo from Aikatsu being a good example, gosh I should cosplay her just because of her stage clothes! Except I could never do her outfits, haha. Pink & frilly is cute, okay? Okay. That goes for anyone else, who wears clothes like that too. (See, it's always easy to know which character is my favorite from any series, if you remember that!)

I love how many times Amu Hinamori's clothes change in Shugo Chara, same for Hoshina Utau from same series! And to anyone, whose clothes changed a lot in series. I like seeing characters in different clothes/styles. Sakura up there is a good example too, I love all the outfits that Tomo made for her! Also, anything by Arina Tanemura is always gorgeous~! School uniforms in Vampire Knight - I still remember those even though I dropped the series a long time ago!♥

I... really can't decide best styles, except I said a good example already. ~~Never mind that I'm too old to wear super girly clothes~~. But then again, I really love all cool outfits too, like Ed & homunculi outfits on FMA~. Really, anything that is girly or cool/rock is mostly what I like, but I'm not picky. :D

ahhhhh complete bias towards one piece outfits in the movies! Since they change from arc to arc its not bad. but in the movies they'll have 2-3 outfits! Oda is really awesome, even if some of the outfits are /weird/ they fit the characters!

Clothes are one of the things I am immediately drawn to when watching things, if the character has a sense of style I like I am almost immediately going to like them just for that. I like designing characters so I always pay a lot of attention to design choices in media I like, too, since a lot of the times there's quite a lot of thought put into it! I can't really think of any particular style or series who does really good at this at the moment, since I tend to find little things I like in most series, so I'm just going to give a honorable mention to Kimblee from Fullmetal Alchemist for being snazzy as hell

My favorite clothes are overly elaborate ones. IT'S TERRIBLE because they are never clothes you'd ever want to wear (and every time someone cosplays them my jaw just drops and I wonder how they don't die under the weight). So included in these are the fancy outfits from Trinity Blood and crazy super detailed embroidery outfits in Aki's manga (Olimpos, Angel's Doubt, Aruosumente, etc).

I don't pay much attention to characters clothes, but from a cosplay viewpoint I can say some are clearly not intended to make sense. Video game clothing even more so. That's why cosplayer cheat--
Oh, because I'm currently watching Karneval, that has some pretty good clothing! Sometimes I think the whole series is only made to show off different outfits.

I looove magical girl clothes! Puella Magi Madoka Magica is my dream cosplay-- Madoka especially (or Godoka ahhhh) but every girl's costume is absolutely beautiful. *A*

Thank you for answering! I assume you mean red because there's no "pink" color category at Colors TCG but pink decks usually get classified as red.

I know I'm repeating myself, but captain Alex Row from Last Exile really has the best style. I mean, with a custom black military uniform with a cape, you don't really need to do anything else to look badass.

Looking at series as a whole, I totally love all the clothes in The World Ends With You. Every outfit there is just... so cool. Especially Neku's, Shiki's and Minamimoto's.

Also obviously there have to be some Final Fantasy characters, but there's just too many of them: Sephiroth, Auron, Vivi, Squall, Seifer, Balthier, Dr Cid, Snow, Lighting, Paine, Lulu, Rikku, Ashe, Rinoa, Beatrix, Tifa, Terra...

Taking gray cards cause it's the best color.

I love frills, colorful, and sophisticated ones in general, so to me, Ai Yazawa and Arina Tanemura draw them the best because they tend to pop out so much and look like they came straight from a fashion magazine.

Oh man uh, specific character wise I really love Dino from Reborn's clothes, not gonna lie. A switch between fluffy and comfy T-shirts and hoodies to really slick suits. I'd take his entire wardrobe if I could.

But more generally I really favor the clothing designs of the Tales series. They're bright and vibrant and really great and unique, but from experience in having to make one of them myself, they really do not make sense in a functionality sort of way.

Goshhh, I really like shows based off of idols - AKB0048, Macross Frontier, etc. Because I really love the cute dresses that the characters get to wear, since cute clothes and idol shows seem to go hand-in-hand. I also really love magical girl dresses because the designs are usually incredibly cute. /o\

While I could easily say that Puella Magi Madoka Magica's outfits fascinated me, and I couldn't help but stare in awe at the final episode showing a large number of different magical girl outfits, typically I don't pay too much attention. There're plenty of exceptions, of course...

Most notably, I'd say that the characters in Black Rock Shooter have the type of outfits that fascinate me most at present. Because, seriously, most of their outfits are primarily black/white while being accented with a single, or no other colors at all and yet they're widely different and terrifying at the same time. Props to anyone who cosplays those, because they always look fantastic.

MAN... Back in the day I really admired the fashion-y splash pages from Bleach. THIS WAS WAY BACK WHEN ONLY A FEW VOLUMES WERE OUT but I remember it was the first time I really paid attention to what characters were wearing and thought "gosh, that's stylish!"

Now-a-days I just kind of nerd over the many subtle outfit changes that my favorite support chara wears... (Link actually goes through quite a few outfits :U). Thinking about characters' clothes just reminds me I need to practice drawing fashion a lot more...

Well, I'm always in fascination of ZUN's character and clothing designs, just because they're so weird. But for stuff I'd actually wear, I'd say characters in the Idolm@ster -- especially Yukiho and Haruka -- have really cute outfits all the time.

Umm, I like the victorian-esque fashion of Pandora Hearts. Puffy, frilly, lacey, fancy—they have it all. Oh, but I don't think I'd want to walk around in those clothes... I'm embarrassed, I don't really pay that much attention to clothes in animanga unless it's ridiculous.

Okay, finally one where I can give a short answer due to not really paying much attention to clothes, usually... well, some school uniforms are nice (Code Geass and Vampire Knight come to mind, at least) but there's just one man who has seriously made a major impression on me and actually got me emulating his dress code.

That man would be Vash the Stampede. I started using sunglasses because of him, I also got a long coat (except mine was black instead of red) with two rows of buttons at the front because of him (and in a non-clothing related example also spiked my hair upwards because of him) and occasionally stole my father's or brother's sturdier boots that looked like his. I was around 15 and he was the epitome of cool. Then again, he still is and I use a similar coat to this day...

...wait, I forgot to ask for the reward color. Errr. Let's go with ~~gray~~ green, actually.

The girls in Zettai Karen Children are always wearing cute clothes that I want, and their casual clothes are always something different from the last time. Their school+babel uniforms are pretty nice too!

In general I like magical girl clothes, gakuran and maid outfits. Ah, and I just remembered an outfit I adore, Mami's from PMMM!

i adore highly detailed or extremely stylized clothing (preferably in the gothic direction, but anything will do). in terms of detail i adore nao tsukiji (adekan) and toboso yana (kuroshitsuji)'s eye for detail and sense of aesthetics. i also love kusunoki rinka (monokuro kitan)'s stuff in terms of heavily stylized clothing! i also adore the clothes in amnesia too, but i'm not sure if it's the artist who designed the clothes or someone else (i think it might be the artist ... i also liked the designs in desert kingdom). there are some more but i can't remember them off the top of my head;;;

in general, i prefer costumes that are fashionable and look like the artist really put thought into what the character would wear and what would look good! if the character just isn't fashionable though it's fun to see characters dressed in fashion atrocities. but in general, clothing is one of the things i pay attention to first and foremost along with hair + face, so i value unique and eye-catching character designs pretty highly, haha.

I have a soft spot for all the outfits in Heart no Kuni no Alice and associated sequels. They are so ridiculous and overly detailed and over-designed but I love them anyway. I've seen some people pull off great cosplay of those outfits, too (though I've never cosplayed myself). Boris and Alice seem to be popular, but I once saw an amazing Julius and have seen several amazing Vivaldis. How they get that giant heart collar to stand up, I'll never know.

I actually really like the clothes in Final Fantasy XIII, particularly for the Cocoon members of the party. Lightning's outfits have gotten increasingly ridiculous over the course of the series but...they still look so cool. .///.

Seconding the outfits for the ZKC girls. Even the guys are pretty dang fashionable. The casual clothes in Aikatsu! are really cute, too, especially Ichigo's.

I basically like clothes that are cute and trendy, though I really like seifuku, idol costumes, gothloli, and mahou shoujo, too.

I tend to like really colorful and cutesy outfits, so things from shoujo series (especially magical girl) catches me eye. Like Amu's clothes in Shugo Chara or the ballerina outfits in Princess Tutu. RPGs are also really good with this as well! Like Ashe from Final Fantasy, or a ton of others like that.

I just really like cute things.
