Hello everyone, and welcome back to Seiyuu Guess! Our host for this game is Shizuka, a rookie seiyuu who's still learning the tricks of the trade! She's been provided with a description, image, and clip of a certain character, and it's up to you to help her figure out who voices them.
This little girl comes from a world where everyone is born with a special ability, the power of which is given a literal star rating. Some are useful (three-star carpentry), some aren't (one-star...soothing??), but all citizens are expected to use their gods-given talent to make their living. Everyone in Latomi Village is excited to see what this girl's ability will be, but on the day of the Inciting Incident Ceremony, it's revealed that she's a dreaded starless: someone whose ability is so low-level it's functionally nonexistent. Starless people are seen as forsaken by the gods (because heaven forfend--literally--someone can't earn their keep), so when the village's beloved fortune teller dies after taking care of this girl, they blame the death on the starless curse. Now this girl is on the run with nothing but her starless beast tamer ability to protect her. About the only "beast" she can tame is that slime on her shoulder, a species so weak it supposedly has just a 24-hour lifespan. But much like our heroine, this little dude won't go gentle into that good night. She names the uncannily unkillable slime Sora, and he becomes her companion on their survival quest. Let's hear the clip...
"I've really lost everyone. There isn't anyone who will look at me now. The people from the village are trying to kill me. The village head, my father, everyone. Even though I didn't do anything. Even though I can't do anything. It's all because I was born starless. It's because I can't do anything. Is being starless really that bad? Is it really something that should be hated so much? Is this world saying that it doesn't want me? And you, little one, were born with the fate of disappearing within a day. The world isn't fair, is it? Right? It's not? Well, I don't know. I don't know, but I'm glad to have met you. I don't know, but it's all right to feel this way, isn't it? That's right. You're my very first friend! So, let's stay together until the very end!"
