Hello, hello, welcome to another month! This is up a few hours later than I would've liked. I always try to get releases up by the 5th! :3 I also change the site layout every two months, so we were due for another layout change this month, except we'd already gone through our color-swapping layouts with all the Colors characters. That meant... it was time to feature all the characters at once. ;) Anyway, this release is late because of Lucathia's terrible layout skills. OTL After much tinkering, this layout ended up looking exactly like our previous layouts, just with a pretty banner courtesy of Nuge's cute art. XD and you get to admire my fishbone font too. Please take a look and tell Nuge how cute her art is. :3

Upcoming and Current February activities!
♥ Graphics Donations this month is also accepting banners for Pick a Color (just for one month!), so come drop by with some pretty banners. :)
♥ Pot of Gold 18 - The Precure cast challenges you! How much of the rainbow can you complete?
♥ The amount of cards you can claim from Recycled Art has been upped to 10!
♥ Look forward to a small Valentine's event, as well as a layout contest this month! (because Lucathia does not think she will be able to come up with any layouts for April, when the next layout change is scheduled. XD;;; )

Thank you for your thoughts about an off topic community. After reading everyone's thoughts, my conclusions are that people feel it would be nice to have an off topic community...but it's not very necessary, and it would be very easy for an off topic community to die off. Since the player who first suggested an off topic community doesn't seem very enthusiastic about it anymore, we won't have an official off topic community, but if anyone wishes to start one, you have my blessing. :3 I do feel it would be a nice place to hang out, though most players already do that elsewhere.

I have been asking questions quite often in these release posts. Here's another one for all of you. Would you mind 1) Avatar decks and 2) video game character decks of characters from Western games? To me, Colors is "East Asian", hence why I've excluded video games from Western sources (the style feels fairly different to me, and I did not want to branch out too much - we already have quite a large focus!), but let me know your thoughts, and you may claim one purple character card for your answer~. Unless response is overwhelmingly in favor of having such decks, there will be no change. :3

I don't know of any Western series 'like Avatar' (insofar as their Eastern influence goes) that I'd want to include, so maybe this makes me biased? I feel like 'Eastern influence' is so subjective and arbitrary, it would be hard to draw a line, and the current East Asian focus already allows for a huge amount of series. I can think of many Western games I love, but the style is very different, particularly between Western and JRPGs, and I feel like, why involve that different style if you won't do it for cartoons? :x Of course, I'm sure many of the fans would be happy to collect such cards, and it doesn't hurt me at all if they're added, so I won't mind either way. ^^;

I wanted to reply to your comment right away, but was waiting for you to finish picking up your cards. Looks like you'll have to reply to your comment for your future pick ups now. XD; (Sorry!)

'Eastern influence' is quite subjective yes, which is why the current guideline is anything that originates from East Asian sources, and not... anything that looks Eastern.

...Avatar would be an exception, since there seems to be quite some overlap of fans of that series. (this I am biased about, because I love Avatar a whole lot, but I would not join other TCGs just for this one series).

I do feel strange if we ever introduce Avatar decks or video game character decks from western games, since it feels outside of the scope of this TCG. Perhaps one of the suggestions made below might work (having such decks be special decks or some other sort of deck, perhaps not part of the randomizer,) if they were ever introduced. :3

OMG OMG western games YESSSS. Although I do realize that maybe it would be better not to stretch the range of the TCG's interest too much... I'm probably not the best one to judge this. Still, G.T. Blitz approves that, and so do I. Taking Composer16 to finally master this deck.

Out of curiosity, what western games do you like? I'm far from an expert on them.

Not picking up til slots are full derp. But, I can answer questions.

1. I would LOVE Avatar decks. The only reason I stuck with another TCG for so long was because of the Avatar decks. I absolutely LOVE the story and the characters. I don't think it would clash too much.

2. I wouldn't mind. Technically, some games are clash now. Resident Evil is more realistic than some RPGs. Same goes for most the Survival Horror genre. So, it's I wouldn't really care. There are only so many games from the west I enjoy. My favorite characters would not have enough images to make a deck anyways.

Hm, it is true that some East Asian games... are very western influenced and more realistic, so perhaps the style of western games won't clash as much as I think. We'd just be seeing more non Japanese names on the decks list, haha. XD;

I wouldn't mind including Western videogames or cartoons, but I don't think it's necessary. There is already a large amount of potential series we can have decks from, not to mention that we're nearing two thousand decks as it is now... Besides, most Western series have completely different aesthetics from Asian ones, and I think the effect could be a bit jarring. Taking outsider11, thank you~

My current thinking is, it's not very necessary, but also that allowing them won't mean we'll end up seeing an influx of them. Just that they would also be able to be donated if anyone is pining after a character from a game that's currently not in our scope. :3

I am worried if the aesthetics would be jarring or not though. And I am biased in that I would still like more East Asian sources donated. XD;;

As for the Western series, I think it would fine! The more, the merrier. Of course, it might lead to too many decks, so maybe you will need to increase the rewards in games a little to balance out the number of decks? As for the purple card, I'm taking mortician01! (:

I don't think it would lead to too many decks, as I don't believe changing the criteria of what can be donated would mean we would end up with more donations in the future... Just that the donations would turn out to be of different series instead. But it's something to think about. :3;;

I'm not sure what kind of western games you have in mind, but they are a pretty different style compared to east asian. Not to mention there are many asian games out there so having western ones as well may probably be a lot to handle. As for the western games/Avatar decks, I don't have a problem with these but since Colors is suppsed to be focused on East Asian sources, I think the amount of these decks should be limited. Maybe treat Western decks like special decks and distibute the privilege to donate them through Lottery/Pot of Gold?

If they are ever introduced, I think limiting them is a good idea. Perhaps even have them not be part of the randomizer? Though the only non-randomizer deck at the moment is anniversary... while the decks we're currently discussing don't feel as special as that. XD;;

I did once consider decks that can only be acquired through choice cards, and these decks would be decks that don't fit anywhere very well, or they could be a 2nd set of cards for a certain character (if they have so much art that they can even have a second deck), or... anything else. Without being part of the randomizer, they could even be a different number, like 10 or 15 cards instead. Hm~

Anyway, limiting them is a good idea if they do happen!

I definitely wouldn't mind if Western games were included. Though I do agree that in some cases, the aesthetics of decks could clash with other decks, but as every series is different, it's bound to happen, anyway. I know of a few Western sources that use anime/manga/Japanese game styled art, but as they're produced in the West, they don't fit under the criteria. Likewise, there are games in Japan that use a completely different style, more reminiscent of Western sources. So, basically, the difference in style may not be an issue in these cases! I'll be taking tsuruko07 for this, thank you~

I think that those types of decks would be okay. But on the other hand we are a more anime TCG than american videogames/movies TCG. So maybe it would be best for those types of TCGS to stick to those decks and us to stick to ours.

As much as I'd LOVE a Dragon Age, Prince of Persia and Deus Ex series of decks...it feel a bit out of place? We got so many decks and series in anime/Japanese mainstream we haven't even touched and so it might just get too overwhelming if we allow Western stuff. And not too interested in western stuff myself besides a few favorites. So would love it, but think it wouldn't do well here.

Though I heard there is going to be a Dragon Age anime. And then we got the Labyrinth manga too. So...some rare stuff is out there!

As for Avatar or Western video games.... Well, as much as I like Avatar, I'm going to have to admit it's not really in the focus of this TCG.
