For years and years now, my mom has made caramels. I'm eating some right now. She's promised to pass the recipe on to me eventually, but while she "still has steam" she's keeping it close. They're sweet, buttery goodness. She makes HUNDREDS each Christmas to give out to friends and family in these cute little tins she makes.

The real pain in wrapping them in the wax paper. Individually. One by one... For hours...

Everyone loves them, though, and it's become a tradition people ask after if she's late.
