The Three Lights need to buy words from you so that they can finish the lyrics to their next song! They'll give you a card for every letter you sell to them and a bonus three cards for every whole word you can provide.

Rules

☆ You need to trade to spell your words! The first letter of either the CARD or the PLAYER you trade with are the letters you use to spell your words.
☆ There will be one word per week, and once a month there will be a longer phrase that you can work towards to submit for a special prize at the end of the month!
☆ Each card may be used once per letter. You may use the same card for both the weekly and monthly challenge.
☆ You may use either cards your trading away and cards you're receiving in order to spell the words.
☆ You may not use your own name for trades. It must be another player's name.
☆ For example, if the word of the week is BANK. To get a 'B' I can trade with Bunny, or I can trade away the card ballerina07 out, or I can trade for bucket19.

Gotta be honest, I never really participated in this game all that much. It's not that it's bad, more that for as many trades as I do (and the fact that it's a weekly game!) I kinda forget it exists a lot lol. And I've never felt good about just trading randoms to trade, I'd rather give someone something they actually want and that limits me. However I like the wide variety of games coming back and I guess I can give this one a shot too.

Thank you for your input! I had concerns about burnout (generally, but also if they're not trading for cards they want,) so I appreciate you bringing that up. I've kicked around a few ideas like making it so the card only needs to contain the letter (like Little Spell Academia), or using a longer word but biweekly so it's not quite so fast paced, etc, but I thought I'd start with vanilla. If you have any thoughts on how to make it accessible, please let me know!

honestly, i enjoy helping people get cards they want and the community has always been great in terms of trading for randoms. and given that both this game, sketchpads, and monthly rewards exist for trades, it's a win-win. also i'm so glad that we're not limited... on how many trades per person anymore for this.....the dark era.......

I shared some of my thoughts in an earlier comment, but after doing the full phrase it was a lot of "Boy I hope there's an O out there". This is definitely a lot harder for people who are new to the game. Some of these letters are very rare as the first letter of a deck. Your suggestion of making it "contains the letter" instead would help.

Thank you for your feedback! I have to agree, I went through and did it myself to try and gauge the difficulty, and despite trading like a hundred cards recently there were a couple I had to go drag up... There's a month to complete it so there's no need to rush, but I'd still probably struggle if I didn't have a big trade pile. I'll definitely make that change going forward!

I brought this back because I love it. I went through and did it to see how it plays, having it start with the word is savage mode and I agree with all the above feedback that it needs some tweaking to be more accessible. I do monster trades and generally am fine with huge random trades with people so I got through it pretty easy, but I would want to die if I had a smaller trading pile.

This form also needs to be simplified because I was getting confused just trying to fill it out. But I like trading, I like that it makes it easier for me to find things when I'm doing trades for randoms, and I think it'll be great with a little more TLC!

aaaah, i missed this game! i'm glad it's back! personally, i think the payout versus the challenge for the monthly task is pretty well balanced, but it is a pretty stiff hill to climb for newer players... i don't really know what the best adjustment would be, honestly :

it's so nice to see the game variety here!! i liked giving random cards for ones that people wanted, especially those with smaller piles. i think the difficulty is pretty balanced for people with cards already, but i could see it being tough if you don't have much to exchange!

It's nice to see more games coming back! Even if I get too lazy to do stuff that requires logging extra things lol. But I think games that facilitate trading are always good! It's definitely no trouble doing these trades for me because I have a huge trade pile, though if you wanted to make it easier for newbies you could allow people who are e.g. in the first tier of levels or something do trades where the letter is anywhere in the card. I agree simplifying the form would help too, maybe just logging the actual card or name you're using bc if you're using enigmas01 for E it doesn't matter who you traded with or what card you traded in return for it. It's all in the link anyway.

Thank you for your input! I love the idea of excluding the first levels tier, so thank you! I've been struggling on how to make it easier for them (esp on the monthly challenge, since I do think it should be a little more challenging.) I agree on the form, too - I think I'll do that next round! I am a big supporter of making things as simple as possible, and I'm not seeing any benefit to all the extra data so hopefully that'll make it less of a hassle for people.
