Hello everyone, and welcome back to Seiyuu Guess! Our host for this game is Shizuka, a rookie seiyuu who's still learning the tricks of the trade! She's been provided with a description, image, and clip of a certain character, and it's up to you to help her figure out who voices them.
When a mix-up leads to this girl becoming Queen of Manoyama, a small town out in Japan's boonies, she decides to play along. Who wouldn't want to be queen for a day? But as soon as she learns she's queen for a year, she runs right for the train station. Living in the country is too "normal" for her; that's why she left her home in the sticks for the excitement of big city life in Tokyo. But as she spends more time in Manoyama, making friends and learning about the town's quirks, she decides to stick out her assignment and discover just what makes the town so special. Let's hear the clip...
"Manoyama once had a mascot called Kabura Kid. A kabura was chosen because Manoyama grows quality kabura. But Kabura Kid was never very popular. Something had to be done. UMAs (Unidentified Mysterious Animals) were very popular at the time, so they made their next mascot the Chupakabura. But he wasn't very popular either. Kabura Kid and Chupakabura. Neither of them were dear to the people of Manoyama. Over time, both of them were forgotten. That's why it doesn't matter which one he is. I don't think that's what's important. So just what is important to the people of Manoyama? What is it that stays with them? That stands the test of time? Something found only in Manoyama. Something they hold dear. I have only just become the queen, so I still don't know what that thing is."
"You don't know?!"
"But I want to spend the next year finding that thing with the help of the people here. I think that is my job. I may not be the greatest queen, but I'll do my best!"
