Colors Chat #63

It's time to sit back, relax, and pour yourself an ice cold glass of... milk. All these games are so great and fun but everyone needs a chance to just unwind and talk. So welcome to Colors Chat!

Here, you will get a topic and you can talk about it all you want. Just listen to your heart and write what you feel like. For your six sentences, you'll get 5 cards. And you should always go around and talk to people, see if you can make new friends or old friends with new light on them or you know, just talk with everyone! It is a chat after all.

Today's topic:
Sleeping habits! What kind of sleeping habits do you have? Are you a "night owl" who can stay up very late and sleep as long as possible or do you like to go to sleep very early and wake up early as well? Does your sleeping schelude crash during holidays? Do you see dreams? Do you remember them when you wake up? Do you like sleeping in general or do you think it "takes too much time"?

Please keep all comments civil and polite. You might disagree with someone, but please do not start a flame war. THANK YOU and enjoy your weeks!

This round closes on Monday, February 22nd. CLOSED

I'm more a morning lark, coerced into waking early because of school, but I'm good with mornings, wake up and hop in the shower and I'm alert and ready to take on the day /o/ And I like sleeping-- I like dreaming, and also those mornings where I can lie there a moment and it's warm and drowsy and comfortable-- but actually falling asleep is a pain, haha. I'm pretty good about remembering and regurgitating dreams, unless they're completely mundane and I purposely toss them from my mind. If I'm lucky, they're very detailed and immersive, like a movie, and I can write down paragraphs of what happened, small details of the scenery and surroundings, dialogue, any emotion evoked, my own thoughts while I'm dreaming since I remain more or less lucid in most of them, and/or prominent colors at the very least if nothing else sticks to memory. Sometimes I'm lucky enough to hold onto details of up to five dreams a night, those are fun nights :D SO MOSTLY dreaming's a lot of fun for me but I still think I could be so much more productive if I didn't have to sleep, haha.

I don't have a very regular sleep schedule, partially because I don't have a regular work schedule! Combine that with the fact that I have some general difficulties with sleep and you get an erratic mess. I'm on a sedative that I take two hours before I need to go to bed, because otherwise I don't enter REM sleep, but it's not quite insomnia, because I can basically take a nap Any Damn Time I Want. My wife likes to tease me about how on days I'm off or don't have to work until the evening, I'll manage to get up at about 9/10, eat some kind of breakfast, settle down into the comfy recliner we have in the living room, and then...sleep for two more hours. I tend to have vivid, surreal dreams and remember them well, sometimes so well that I'll think of a specific one years later in relation to a thing that happens and then end up focusing on it. I intend to finally start keeping a dream journal to retain some of the details better but it's just getting into the habit of it, I guess!

HI i guess my sleeping habits in one word is : terrible. I'm up really late into the morning. Would it be more accurate to say I'm an owl? This doesn't really bode well sometimes I wish I had a normal schedule. SOMETIMES I SLEEP ON TIME...but then cycle back into owl habits. How brutal.

Truly I hope that you guys get enough sleep. It's not fun being sleep deprived during work/school man.

Man, I am a night owl all the way! I'm the most productive in the evenings for sure, and if I could stay up all night, I totally would! I had to switch up my sleep schedule recently, though, and start sleeping earlier... It's been hard, since I'm used to just staying up as late as possible. But having a more normal and consistent sleep schedule helps a lot with school, so I've been working hard at it...!! I still slip sometimes, though... Like yesterday... looks away...

How I feel about sleep usually depends on my mood. Sometimes, I want to take naps and sleep in and just generally sleep as much as possible!! But other times, it's like, man, I don't have enough time in the day to do all the things I want, I wish I could just skip sleep all together HAHA. Despite that, though, I've learned the importance of being well-rested, so I guess me and sleep at least have a pretty decent relationship, haha.

Hmmm I like to sleep very late, wake up about 4 hours hours. And sometimes I'll take a 2 hour nap during the day! SLEEP DOESN'T STOP ME! If I sleep early, I wake up just as early, but then I am still tired throughout the day. Its easier for me to not sleep at all (jk, but yea minimal sleep works best for me.)

I tend to be more of a night owl when I'm really into a thread I'm RPing... I definitely have "one more tag" syndrome. I sleep a lot when I'm depressed-- it kills time-- but when I'm not I prefer to be awake, especially during the daytime. But my sleep schedule is fluctuating all the time, partially thanks to the meds I'm on.

Also, I have crazy vivid dreams.

My sleeping habits are pretty terrible, tbh. I'm a total night owl - I'll stay up until 4/5am and when the sun starts peeking through my window I'll go to bed. I'll go to bed earlier than that if I've got a migraine, but generally I'm up all night. I tend to try and make sure my schedule doesn't have early stuff I need to get to - I can get up in the morning if absolutely necessary, but I'm a total grouch when I do. It's afternoon shifts and night classes for me!

I actually love sleeping! But there's always something else I could be doing instead of sleeping - what about reading that new book? Or playing my backlog of videogames? Or doing homework and/or cleaning.

Ehh, I work around 3am to 12 noon time so I tend to try to sleep at a decent time although I end up falling asleep around 10-11pm.... I usually end up sleeping when I get home from work like 2 or 3 hours so it messes up my hours even more OTL.

I used to be a really bad nightowl and sleep at like 4-5 am! Now I'm an old lady and cannot stay up past like 11pm anymore . :cc I don't mind sleeping early I just always seem to find other things to do haha. I get my days where I have to crash as soon as I get off work because I didn't sleep until like 1-2 am LOL.

SLEEP EVADES ME, MY OLD FRIEND.

no, my sleep schedule is really...odd. it depends on how long it takes me to finish work. when my schedule was more flexible and sporadic, i'd often be nocturnal, but now i'm sort of forced to be among the world of the living during the daytime. i have dreams sporadically and they're usually really odd...but i sleep about 7 hours now on average ON GOOD DAYS. bad days i get about 2 or 3 at best.

WHAT SLEEPING HABITS

[personal profile] netbug009 2016-02-17 05:02 am (UTC)(link)
lol when I'm on one it's usually about midnight to eight-ish, but when I get to sleep is very dependent on my bipolar episodes sometimes. I don't have many activities outside the house so I've kinda learned to just roll with it instead of beating myself up

I'm a vivid dreamer though, so that's interesting. I don't really have nightmares much though because I tend to find most "nightmares" feel like exciting adventures. When I do have a nightmare that actually scares me it's usually something mundane like failing a test or arguing with my mom.
