Hey everyone! Another day means another anniversary event! We've already talked about our memories of TCGs and Colors, so how about some more nostalgia?

How did you get into anime, manga, and/or games? What was your first series? Was there a particular series that really got you hooked? Do you have any fond memories of your early fandom days?

Anpanman in Chinese! Although I don't think that counts? I didn't really know what anime were yet at the time. Probably my first actual one was Pokemon on Toonami. I remember watching a lot of other shows on Toonami after that, but the ones that stood out to me were Yugioh, Energy Bomb, and Medabots.

Then Shaman King hit and that was probably my first "fandom"? I have fond memories of reading fanfic of it and drawing fanart, making OCs, and, of course, discovering slash through it limez & lemonz dont like dont read but I was mostly a passive fan and kept to myself and some IRL friends. It was Battle B-daman where I actively engaged with other people in the fandom and wrote sprawling fics and drew lots and lots of art :D

Aw, I'm glad you remember your first fandom fondly! And I've always wished I had the talents to write fic (good fic, anyway) and draw fanart.
