5. ...you know, I feel like this is a bit of a trick question, because the first game under the Dynasty Warriors title (released in 1997) is a very different gameplay style than the rest of the series, so one could argue that Dynasty Warriors 2 (released in 2000) is the first "true" DW game in that sense.
