Small Fandoms

Talk to me about those series you love that no one else seems to have heard of! You track the tumblr tag but it only updates once a month at best; you prowl Ao3 but you've read all the fics a dozen times over. Tell me about those rare and unappreciated series you wish more people were a fan of—maybe someone here will give one a try!

If you aren't a fan of any lesser-known series or series with small fandoms, tell me why they don't appeal to you. Do you prefer to have a large selection of fan-produced media to peruse, or do you just enjoy sharing the love with many other fans? Let us know!

The first series that came to mind were Detective Academy Q and Muhyo and Roji. I could talk about them more but I'm tired and Wikipedia was right there so...;;

Detective Academy Q is made by the same writing/artist team that made Kindaichi Case Files. It's about, uh.. students at a detective school lmao I know that sounds dumb (okay it's dumb) but!! it's really neat and scary sometimes and it's a fun series!! It also has a live action adaption that I think is more well-known!

Muhyo and Roji is a supernatural/horror(?) series that ran in Weekly Jump. I am still sad that it never got an anime adaption. The entire series is available in English, so I should be thankful for that (and its tag being a little more active than it used to lately).

I remember Detective Academy Q. I loved it as much as I could back then. (as much those short times I actually saw it when it was on TV). I loved the opening as well. It was too catchy XD
Even though sadly I don't remember much I briefly remember one episode or two still.

I was actually going to add a 'also it has a nice opening look!!' at the end but didn't for some reason. There's the link for anyone looking, I guess!

And I'm really happy to hear someone else watched it, even if it was a just little!

I thought about mentioning Tantei Gakuen Q too! It's... my favorite detective series... I'm currently trying to buy the manga volumes I don't have yet and it's super hard since even the Japanese sellers don't seem to know or remember it... ;_;... But it makes me extra super happy to see someone else appreciating it too! It deserves a bigger fandom.

This was the nicest surprise I've had in a while. ♥ I have been thinking about you a lot, especially these past few weeks.
