~*~ Madoka Spoilers Below ~*~

I remember when I was watching Madoka, the character I felt the most for was always Sayaka. Her part of the story felt the most real, the most well-written, and it was watching her breakdown that really made the show for me. A lot of the revelations about the ~dark side~ of being a magical were made through her - Mami's character represents the idealistic, picture-perfect image of magical girls, Homura (at first) is vaguely villainous and harsh, but it is through Sayaka that we see what makes the show unique. The progression from hopeful and self-empowered to complete despair, in which she realizes that everything that has happened to her is her fault, just resonated so deeply with me. It was something so raw and heartfelt as I had never really seen before in an anime I'd watched. Also maybe I liked her because her color is turquoise and that's my favorite color LOL. xD I also probably related to her a lot at the time I was watching because I was feeling pretty Forever Alone and to see her struggle with finding someone to love her hit pretty close to home.
