Unfortunately the Christmas story I remember most is a bit sad...When I was very young (about four or five), we had a cat named Billy. Three days before Christmas, he went out and never came back. It wasn't until after Christmas that the neighbors told us that he was hit by a car. They took care of the body and simply kept quiet about it until the 26th so it wouldn't ruin our Christmas. At the time I was a bit too young to understand the whole thing, but now I'm older, I appreciate the fact that they took care of things so my Mom wouldn't have to do so that close to Christmas.
It's a bit of an unfortunate story, but it's the holiday event that shaped me the most I think. Sometimes bad things happen, but people will ultimately do what they can to help make things right.
