DAY 13: Triskaidekaphobia!

That is -- the irrational fear of the number 13! Do you jump the 13th step? Or maybe avoid flying on Friday the 13th? If you don't have any 13 related superstitions feel free to share any others. Broken mirrors, ladders, black cats, not washing your socks on game day, etc!

I used to be irrationally afraid of shower curtains. It's because of the Shining TV series where that thing is in the bathtub and pulls the shower curtain over. So for like a decade every time I walked into a bathroom I'd pull the shower curtain open, lol!

I'm not really superstitious but I still knock on wood from time to time! XD I also carry around a little jade animal that supposed to bring me good luck that my mother gave me but that's more a traditional thing, I guess?

I don't think I'm actually a superstitious person. But it's sometimes fun to think like I would be. Like making fun of the Friday 13th and blaming the date of any small misfortune happening then, spitting over my shoulder after seeing a black cat going over road and so forth. I don't really believe in them, so it's only a joke. We also have this tradition to arrange an annoying (for characters) event each Friday 13th in our Finnish RP, which makes the date more worth waiting than to be feared :D

The only thing that really comes to mind is the fact that I've always been raised to believe it's bad luck to cross paths on the stairs. Of course, looking back, I think this might all have been an elaborate cover for just having arguments with my brother. Which is to say, he may well have just made it up to frustrate his little sister, and then it might have somehow stuck. EVEN SO, we are twenty-six and twenty-eight years old now, and will still bicker on the staircase about who has to go back to the top/bottom and let the other continue their journey.

I can't think of any others! Fel tells me off for whistling in the house, though... bad luck :(

I don't consider myself very suspicious. I do, however, put a lot of faith in my instincts and 'feelings'. Sometimes I get the sense that something isn't right and usually being on guard when I get those hunches has served me well. I'm afraid it isn't quite accurate for this, but it's the closest I get to being suspicious.

I'll choose 666-13 for the vague hilarity of it.

I embrace Friday the 13th with open arms! It's one of my favorite days because a lot of luck goes on for me! I think my only supersition is that I have to take a shower when I first wake up because if I take a bit of time before I do, I will slip and trip all over the place.

Actually I think that 13 is a good number as well as any other number but at the same time, for example, I still don't like to go out that much if it's Friday the 13th. Still, I use to knock the wood if I have accidentally said something that I don't wish to come true (like "I won't pass this exam").

Truthfully, my 2013 was pretty horrible on average and seems to be ending on a real bad note. I have to admit that this makes me sort of suspicious of it. I've noticed that it was a pretty bad year for lots of people I know. I'm not sure if we should blame the 13 for that...but wow am I glad it's over.

But that said, I'm not overly superstitious, but I do easily hit a certain point where it's hard to believe things are a coincidence (when a bunch of bad things happen all at once). I would consider that a kind of superstitious!

I am wary of traveling on holidays for what I think is partially superstitious reasons and partially practicality. It gets rough when everyone is trying to go somewhere at the same time!

I'm not really superstitious anymore. As a kid, I always tried to avoid stepping on cracks, but I grew out of that. Occasionally I do the "knock on wood" thing, but it's not really a big fear if I don't do it.

I'm not very superstitious, and I don't actually really buy into them, but there are a few things that always get me—like I always avoid walking under ladders, and I always hold my breath as much as I can when I drive by a cemetery. It can't be helped...

i'm not superstitious at all, but i'm scared of the dark and get freaked out by things like creepypasta even though i don't believe in anything supernatural, so it's... kind of a trade off...
