Today's topic is gaming platforms! Since video game series are an important part of our TCG, we cannot forget about them during the anniversary. So, what do you play them at? PC, stationary consoles, handhelds? Which ones? What are your opinions on the new generation of consoles: PS4, Wii U, Xbox One - are you planning to buy any of them? If you don't play any games and are just here for the anime series say that as well!

I hate to admit it, but I'm a Sony fangirl. I own the PS2, PS3, PSP, and I'm planning on getting a Vita and a PS4 eventually (like 2 years from now when the price drops, probably). Plus, I've pretty much never touched an Xbox in any incantation... There just seems to be a lot more games that I like on their consoles, since 95% of what I play are JRPGs and action-adventure games. I also like Nintendo's handheld consoles, not so much the Wii/WiiU. Actually, I pretty much prefer handheld consoles in general. I like how I can take the games I'm playing anywhere or not even need to leave my bed if I want to play a video game.

I don't really play much... I have Final Fantasy XIII & XIII-2, which I haven't even started because I'm stuck somewhere in the beginning of the first game. Oooops. And I finally have a 3DS, or I've had it for -- a year now? I don't remember, but it's my first own little console ever, and all I've had as a kid was the first nintendo. I almost bought Super Mario Smash Bros Brawl to play it on a Wii, but then we never got a Wii... I still frown at my mom every time she plays with their Wii, because she always talked about getting one, when we still lived in the same house. Then she got it straight after moving out.

Also, I don't enjoy it when I'm supposed to just sit and watch when people play. I don't find it interesting, unless there's a real reason for me to find it interesting. Like, if I want to know a character, but even then it has to be a really interesting character to me.

Even if I'm not a gaming person, I love my 3DS, though I don't play with it often. But it's pink, I love playing Pokemon and other games with it (whenever I feel like it) ...My mom has a Wii where she lives, but I'm not really good at playing with it, or with our playstations here in my home. I've always wanted to try Buffy game on X-Box, but I've never had a chance to try it.

Oh, but not a funny story about games/anime; when my friends focused on playing Pokemon all the time and I was bored as hell without any company online, I actually watched hundreds of episodes of Pokemon. I kind of miss Johto-season, but everything else? Nope. Great reasons to marathon a series which repeats itself on almost every episode, yes. No. :|

Yeah, not much a gaming person here, so I'm mostly here for the anime / manga decks. I don't really have opinions on new or old consoles either, as I haven't played them all that much. I did enjoy playing playstation games when the first playstation had just come out and my stepbrother got it for Christmas? Yeah okay no, that was ages ago. Video games and I don't just fit together well. D;

But I do find one video game character interesting, beautiful and everything else. She was my reason to buy those Final Fantasy games and I want to collect her deck at some point. Therefore, I'm taking gunblade04 with me♥

I prefer to play on handhelds because that way I can just lie on my back and be lazy while I play. I don't mind consoles but handhelds are MAXIMUM RELAXING FACTOR.

As for my opinion on the new generation of consoles THEY MAKE ME BITTER. The previous systems have hardly been really used to their fullest, so I am like is it really necessary -- particularly because I already have been too poor to buy PS3 and xbox360 (I DO HAVE A WII THO) so I am like I HAVEN'T EVEN HAD THE CHANCE TO CATCH UP YET o9!!! it is the saddest ever

I'm not much of a gamer, but well. I enjoy playing every now and then? I own a PS1 (although I left it at my parent's house when I moved out), PS2, PS3, PSP, DSLite, 3DS (which I bought for secretambition but am currently using) and I'm planning to buy a 3DSXL Pikachu edition for secretambition eventually, because we need another 3DS for the upcoming Pokemon X/Y. I really want a PS Vita and Wii (U is fine too!) aaand I'll probably cave in and buy PS4 too some day. I also play PC MMORPG games (mostly Ragnarok Online and occasionally Dragon's Nest).

I'm not really interested in anything complicated though. I mostly play simple stuff like Yosumin! and Katamari (I own three copies of We ♥ Katamari oops), fighting games (Sengoku Basara and Guilty Gear yeeaaahhhh also Tekken), rhythmic games (Ouendan!! Yes!! It's my PASSION!!), Pokémon (14 games oh my) aaand... Dating sims, mainly otome games. Hatoful Boyfriend, Starry☆Sky, Prince of Tennis sidegames, etc etc...

Tokimeki Memorial Girl's Side trilogy is my favorite game thing in the world. Especially 3rd Story, but 2nd Kiss has a special place in my heart thanks to one wonderful chemistry teacher ♥ That's why I'm taking yet another card of him home with me - beaker11, welcome ♥ I really need to donate some 3rd Story decks later!

You know, the funniest thing is, I gamed very little before I was 14. Big bro wouldn't let me near his computer and gave death threats if I even spoke of getting a console and parents were also all "no, son, you're not getting one of those, they don't do anything useful". A buddy's Megadrive and watching my brother playing on his PC were the only options.

Then when I turned 14, my big bro upgraded his computer and I got the old one and learned of the existence of emulators and... well... my Backloggery has over 200 games now without counting some games that can't really be completed and there's probably several dozens more I haven't cared enough about to add or haven't started yet. But, because of this, keyboard and mouse will probably always be the "correct" way to play for me, I don't really feel very comfortable with handhelds and don't enjoy gamepads very much.

Although I'll probably have to. The newer non-JRPG games that excite me are getting pretty few in number so I'm moving more and more on to the PS side because their JRPG collection is still going strong. (some Nintendo is good because their games are fun and PC is still the best for visual novels, though) For the same reason, PS and Nintendo are the ones I'm getting if anything. This pic is exaggerated, of course, but still sums it up pretty well. At least it's a pretty good indicator of why I have zero interest in Xboxes...

I have a bias towards Nintendo since the only system that I own myself is a DS... my brother does have PS3 I use on occasion but my general love for the Pokemon games in general! If I could afford it I would get myself a PSP and play so many games for that system though (FATE/EXTRA ELUDES ME STILL)

I have a ton of platforms. I use my computer for Neverwinter Nights only, but I also have an Xbox 360, PS2, PSVita, PSP, Wii, and my roommate has a PS3. Mostly I've been playing Assassin's Creed (360) and Persona 3/4 (PSP/Vita), so my 3DS and Wii haven't gotten a lot of love lately. I don't think I'll be getting an Xbox One because of the stuff I've been hearing about it, but after I move, I'll be buying a PS3 and probably a PS4!

I've been a gamer for nearly as long as I can remember, thanks to an older half brother who had a tendency to carry around PSXs in his backpack (he always had two because one was always broken, somehow). Then there were PC games, Sega Genesis, Atari Jaguar, Nintendo 64, GBC, and now PS2, PS3, Xbox... I'll play pretty much anything regardless of console, though anymore I'm a PS3 fan with a Wii, original model DS + 3DS XL, but no Xbox 360. Since consoles and games are expensive and most of the games I want come out for PS3, otherwise I would have Every Console. :'(

I enjoy JRPGs and some Western RPGS- it depends since the RPG genre in western terms tends to be pretty broad in definition. Also story-based puzzle games, especially handheld ones like Ace Attorney, Professor Layton, and Ghost Trick. And... whatever genre Shadow of the Colossus is, platform-adventure? idek. I like platformers though. POINT IS, I like a lot of games and I don't always think about the genre.

As for the next gen... I've had mixed feelings about the Wii U and I'm not really going to pay close attention to it unless a game I really want comes out for it. Xbox One sounds kind of offensive considering they're requiring an internet connection once ever 24 hours or you can't continue playing games, and there's still a lot of people who don't have access to internet or a stable connection. PS4 is what I'm mostly likely to get just because there are already games announced for it that I want, though I haven't paid close attention to whether it's all that improved or not.

lmao, i'm pathetic? most of the games i play are on ps2 and pc??? i'm really into survival horror and jrpg! i'm also very, very fond of rpg maker 2d games, especially the ones that have horror elements to them such as ib and mad father! *A* i could probably go on and on about a lot of games though... ;w;

i don't have the money for any new consoles? but i can say even if i did i wouldn't get an xbox one so while i'm here i'll just implore folks not to even touch it, microsoft is pulling some bs with it and it seems awful :,)

I have a PS3, Japanese PSP, PS Vita, Xbox 360, Nintendo 3DS, JPS2, Wii, Wii U deluxe, PC/laptop... I used to have a PS1 and its somewhere in storage and my Gamecube broke a while back. Yes I love to game!

My favorite is PS3, I have the old 80GB model that can play PS2 games. For some reason its always PS3 for me. I'm more comfortable with the controls and I'm more of a rpg player. With certain games I love to go PC with like Dragon Age so I can mod it to death. XD For some reason not a huge Wii fan. I rather sit on my butt and play which is probably the reason, but it does have great games on it, one of my newest ones being Xenoblade, which kind of forces me to use it haha. And I like playing my GC version of Zelda on it as well.

I'll probably buy a PS4, but not sure really about Xbox one because so far its sounding like crap.

PS2/3, computer, and the GBA/DS for the most part. Lmao I really need to get a 3DS soon too. I like the Wii but there's not really a game on it that I'm super crazy about. And I'll get the newer consoles but lmao later. A lot later.

I actually don't play games much, so I can't really answer hhhh. But! I would like to get a PSP just for the sake of finally playing P3P and Blazblue... maybe some games based off anime I like idk. A new PS3 (ours broke lol) would be nice, too.

My first ever console was a regular ol' PS, and since my parents were wholly against me having more than one video game console when I was younger, I was pretty much raised on the PS and PS2. I did own some handhelds though from the Gameboy family so I could play Pokemon, though. Nowadays I own both a PS2 and a Wii so I can play some Nintendo releases, but Sony still holds a special place in my heart.

JRPGs tend to be my favorite games, though I really love platforms like Spyro and Ratchet and Clank. Puzzle games like Professor Layton, Trauma Center and the Ace Attorney series are also among my favorites. And, of course, I am a Pokemon fan through and through. I'm not really up to speed on the new generation of consoles so to be honest I don't have much of an opinion on them.

Well, I have almost all the gaming platforms. CRIES. But I seem to favor the 360. The controller is big so it doesn't give my poor deformed hand any issues. uwu! Cries at the reasoning.

I need to get a ps vita and wii u. since there are games coming out on them.
i'm unsure at the wii u with it's big clunky second screen, but i have really played with it.
i haven't really looked into the others.

I haven't bought a stationary console since my PS2. I don't think I'm as in to video games as I was when I was younger but now that I'm in university it just isn't convenient. I'll be home for the summer but after that I'm moving into a new house for the year and then the year after that I'll be spending a year in Japan so I can't really be lugging those kinds of consoles around with me.

Even though it had been a while since I bought a new console I bought a 3DS earlier this year since the old one (which I'd had since I was 15, about 7 years ago) had pretty much broken. I think I much prefer handhelds since they're easier to carry around and a good way to pass times on trains and useful if you don't have large slots of time to play games. I would like to play more PC games but I don't think my laptop can really handle them. One thing I have become quite fond of is amateur games made in RPG Maker and the like. They're not to long so I can normally finish them and it inspires me to try and make my own games in the future, although I haven't put all my ideas together yet.

I love me some handhelds. My big birthday present this year was that I got a new 3DS so handhelds are absolutely amazing. I want to get the Wii U because nothing else appeals for me. And I've owned every nintendo console and handheld since the original brick of a gameboy, only missing GBA Micro and DSi/DSiXL.

Both my parents played video games so I was playing since... I don't know, for all I know they let their baby try to play on the NES. But yeah, since I was little. One of them also worked at Blockbuster way back then, so we always got to rent games for free. I think we've owned every Nintendo stationary console, except the Wii U. I myself own a Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advanced, DS, Wii and 3DS. My brother has a PS2 and Xbox+360, but I don't really play games on those, just Katamari Damacy and Ape Escape on the former and DDR on the latter.

I don't think we're going to get a Wii U any time soon, but my brother says he's going to save up for that or a 3DS for himself for Pokemon XY, which we're both looking forward to. I prefer handheld games more nowadays, so I don't mind if we don't get one.

I prefer PC games but I own a PS3. I feel like it was a waste of money since I don't even play with it. It's not entirely useless though since my brother actually uses it to play COD, BF3, or whatever those FPS games are. I don't plan on getting a new generation console since the PS3 obviously wasn't worth its weight in gold for me but we'll see.

PC was largely what I had while growing up, and most of the games were Halo and CoD and Star Wars and whatever my brother played, haha. But there was also my turquoise Gameboy Color that was my favorite thing ever, and Pokemon Silver was something I'd play and replay and replay all the time :DD Those two are all I've ever owned, haha, but my roommate has a PS2, and I've been playing the Silent Hill and Persona series and whatnot too. I lack the money for consoles/games of my own *sob*

I tend to prefer the older gaming consoles where it's just me, my game and no online distractions like "So-and-so is online". I'll make an exception for achievements because they are a distraction that makes me happy (even though they sometimes cover up important things while I'm in the middle of a fight). My family owns an XBox 360, Wii, PS2, Gamecube (or did, alas), Dreamcast, and Sega Saturn. My sister and I also have our own DSes but I find it awkward to hold for long periods.

I'm actually not very excited about the next generation, with maybe the possible exception for Wii U. Right now though, I know the XBox One 'always online' issue is a major turn off and I haven't heard anything that made me go "I WANT" with the PS4, especially given how it has no backwards compatibility last I heard. The Wii U at least has MORE ANIMAL CROSSING and the practically-a-handheld-controller would be a nice thing to help resolve TV time clashes.

Gaming is kind of a part of my life. '-' It's not like I've had outside influences to help with that either? I never had older siblings or my parents were never into it. I just got an SNES when I was three and I was hooked.

I've owned an NES, SNES, N64, gamecube, wii, nintendo gameboy, gameboy advance, gameboy SP, DS, 3DS, ps1, ps2, ps3, psp, sega saturn, sega genesis, sega gamegear, and a dreamcast. LOL IT'S A LOT.

I have never been an xbox fan tbh and the xbox one turns me off even more. I would like a Wii U someday but maybe if they get a new catelog of games soon! And PS4, if you don't give me Versus, I will die. The end.
