It's day 8 already! I hope you're all having fun!

Today's topic is gaming platforms! Since video game series are an important part of our TCG, we cannot forget about them during the anniversary. So, what do you play them at? PC, stationary consoles, handhelds? Which ones? What are your opinions on the new generation of consoles: PS4, Wii U, Xbox One - are you planning to buy any of them? If you don't play any games and are just here for the anime series say that as well!

i used to be a huge handheld fan as a kid (GB, GBA, GBSP, DS, etc.) but i gradually moved over to the PS2 as a teen. now, though, i barely touch either of those console types /)_(\;;

as of late i've been glued to PC and PSP games, though! i'm a huge fan of visual novels (otome games in particular, though i've picked up a few visual novel games with proper gameplay) so i'm most attracted to whatever VNs are most often released on. in japan the PSP is still popular enough to release otome games on rather than the vita (for some reason? i'm not entirely sure on why) so i eventually ended up getting one, and otome pc games still come out so i've started using my pc for games again since gradeschool haha.

i'm not really interested in any of the latest releases unfortunately since again my main interest in VNs and unless these new consoles start getting console-only releases (as opposed to like, a playstation port of a PSP game) i probably won't consider buying one. plus, a lot of the anti-piracy stipulations and invasion of piracy deals (xbox are you for real) that make honest gamers pay really turn me away from wanting any of them anyway tbh.

I have been raised on Nintendo and want to buy a Wii U. I'm not closed to consoles by other companies, but... have you heard that creepy crap about the XBOX ONE? No. Way. D:

Well I would say I'm more in Nintendo consoles (I do have a lot of them at home) and definetily a Pokemon and Zelda fan. About the new consoles, I don't really understand for now why the Wii U (apart the High Definition) and the Xbox One... I don't know what to say... For the PS4, I will have to wait the E3 to reveal more about it.

I've been playing video games for as long as I remember! When I was younger, my mom had an atari and I played all kinds of things like Centipede and Donkey Kong and stuff. I eventually burned it out because I played it so much and that was great. 8D;; I played a lot of RPG style games from when I was young though, so I think that has something to do with how much I like RPG related stuff now! I have a PS2 and a Wii atm because my mom got rid of my Super Nintendo and Nintendo64 and they still get quite a bit of use! I have a DS as well, and also my computer. My computer and DS see the most use even if I still play with my consoles more since it's easier to just use my DS and computer when possible!

I love love love JRPGs as my favorite genre of game because I really enjoy the stories that go into it. I especially love things like the Tales of series or Pokemon, but I'll try most games at least once no matter what.

I doubt I will be getting any of the newer consoles because I don't have the money, and even if I did, I definitely don't want the Xbox One after what I've heard about it.

Gaming isn't a huge part of my life right now, but I did enjoy the older consoles a lot! Playstation, Playstation2, plenty of the Gameboys, the gamecube . . . My 'latest' console was the PSP, which I got almost exclusively to be able to play Crisis Core and FFVII.

I play a large variety of platforms, PS1 (it died though), PS2, PS3, Wii, PSP, DS & 3DS. Most of my favourite games come from PS2 (the SMT series hnng), and both the DS & 3DS. The only console which never interest me is Xbox, and with the specs for Xbox One, there's an even lower chance I will get an Xbox in the near future.

I do plan to buy PS4 or Wii U!

I don't really consider myself as having brand loyalty or anysuch, but Sony does seem to be what's run through my family? Or actually, Sony for consoles and Nintendo for handhelds, which generally suits me just fine. I can only think of one example of a game I felt like I "missed" by having the wrong system, as it were...

I don't mind PC gaming, but my laptop is absolutely archaic and can't really handle much. It could scrap through World of Warcraft (which I quit playing just before the latest expansion was released), but Guild Wars 2 and even Ragnarok Online 2 were way too much for it. Alasss...

I'll probably get a PS4 eventually, but it won't be a priority for me. A decent PC is actually the priority right now, if anything. After all, I do own GW2. It would be nice to get to actually play it SOME day, hahaha.

My first experience with gaming was watching my Dad play DOOM when I was about four. I've been a PC gamer since then, not that I realised it at the time. Alas I'm stuck with a laptop but it runs Guild Wars II and most Steam content well enough, so no complaints.

I spend most of my time now between the PS3 and my 3DS, but I generally prefer Nintendo of the big three. I will also hold onto my GCN until the bitter, bitter end, and have also shipped my PS2 across the ocean with me.

I'm not that much of a gamer, but when it comes to handheld games, I'm Nintendo all the way, and for consoles, it's Sony for me. I bought a 3DS so I can play Fire Emblem: Awakening and the new Pokemon games and I'm very happy with my PS3.

I'm pretty much attached to Sony since that's what I grew up with. So PS2 & PS3 are those which are getting the love. Nintendo mostly the only thing I go to when it comes to handhelds, though. Even though I prefer consoles since big screens and all that jazz, handheld games are easier for me? You just can take them everywhere and play it in-between most of the time.
The new gens kinda make me mad and disappoint me at the same time. XBone is a ridiculous joke. Microsoft's E3 conference didn't make it any better. The line-up for WiiU is boring and since Wii didn't interest me at all either, I don't think I'm going to get one of that family. Heck, I'd prefer to play PC games than getting one of those. Pretty sure I'll get a PS4, when the price drops and a bunch of good games are out.

I have absolutely no opinion about other platforms because I haven't played on either of them WELP
and probably not going to buy any of them ... but I do prefer handhelds versus bigger TV-connected consoles.

I'm a big Sony fan! I started on SNES but my heart remains on the PS1 with FFVII and my version of FFVI. I don't own a PS3 because the price was a deterrent when it was coming out and now the PS4 is around the corner so it's kind of like. . . DO I GET A PS3 NOW OR JUST WAIT AND DO PS4? I am also the slowest gamer in ALL OF EXISTENCE so it is kind of just like /rolls over and dies. The systems are released faster than I can play through the games I want to haaha.

Right now my primary game system is my droid (P...POKEMON ON THE PHONE!) and my PSP since they're both portables and I take public transit enough to warrant that.

I kind of feel like the gaming scene issss . . . not really concerned with my needs as a gamer haha these days. I'm forever stuck in PS1/PS2 era games as being my favorite and every time a new system comes out I just feel like. . . WILL THIS SYSTEM HAVE 500 DOLLARS OF ENJOYMENT ON IT???? I guess I feel like price is pretty prohibitive for the return.

Though the first system to have remakes of the Silent Hill games with better graphics and controls gets my 500 bucks any day!

PS2 and several of the Nintendo line, for me. I don't have any particular brand loyalty, so I just got them based on the games I wanted to play! (KH, Suikoden, Baroque, Fire Emblem Fire Emblem Fire Emblem etc., Tales of Symphonia, Pokemon) My brother got an XBox, but I never really used it. I have a 3DS, but other than that, I really don't especially want any of the most recent releases.

I'm not very much of a gamer, but when I do play, I play on my PS2! That's actually the only gaming console I own at the moment.

I am friends with a lot of more serious gamers, though, and from what I've heard most of the new generation consoles sound pretty dismal...

My very first system was a Nintendo 64 (it still works!), and I've always been a loyal Nintendo fangirl. I have Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, Gamecube, Wii, DS, 3DS... And aside from that, I have a PS2, PSP, PS3 and a 360. Just imagining all the money I've spent on video games in my lifetime is making me cringe, oops... But video games are and have always been a big part of my life.

Consoles vs. handhelds - I like consoles, but there's something especially nice about curling up under the covers in bed with a DS.

As for the next gen. Sony completely conquered Microsoft at E3 today. The XBox One honestly seems like a joke, but I'm super excited for the PS4!

I don't play many video games, but I do like the 3DS a lot! Games like Fire Emblem: Awakening and Animal Crossing: New Leaf are fun, and I'm looking forward to the Pokemon game coming out later!

PSX and PS2 will always hold a place in my heart, too; I played a lot of games on PSX as a child, and I had my first Harvest Moon game on the PS2. ♥

I admittedly haven't played video games on consoles for a while; but growing up we always had the PlayStation consoles, all the way through the PS3. My experiences with the PS games were decent and I do have to say my favorite game to play through was Kingdom Hearts. But my secret longing was always the GameCube because it had all of the Tales of games I desperately wanted to play! I've always been fascinated with them and found the controls of the GameCube easier to handle for some reason, so I plowed through big chunks of the games during the times I did have access to the GameCube. I don't have a huge opinion on them I suppose but I've enjoyed my gaming experiences with both.

Sony or bust, baby! E3 just revealed the PS4 and KH3 and FFXV and aaaah I'm so excited. Course, I probably won't be getting a PS4 until like, the PS5 is announced haha but it's nice to dream. Screw Sony for creating the Vita okay I shelled out money for the PSP which sucks and then they wanted me to get the Vita immediately after that haha no.

But yeah I have a PS1, PS2, PSP, and PS3, and I'll unashamedly declare that the PS2 is the best game console ever. Why can't we just go back to that I miss the good old days of games I could actually afford. /sob

We also have a Wii and I have several Nintendo handhelds, the DS being my second favorite after the PS2 because it's a solid piece of equipment with a lot of good games and I really enjoy the two-screen thing. Also screw Nintendo for the 3DS there is no reason to buy a new system that doesn't even make things 3D properly it just get kind of blurry why can't I play 3DS games on my DS without the 3D effect.

tl;dr I'm one of those old people who sits on their porch telling kids to get off their lawn only the metaphor is about video games
