Welcome to the COLORS TCG SUMMER READING PROGRAM! 


Today we're talking about some of our favorite Colors viable things to read: Manga, light novels, visual novels, text-heavy games and the like! For sharing some of your favorite reads you may take cher15hed18 and three choice character cards.

But wait! There's more! Because what's summer reading if you don't actually read something new? Take some time to look through the recommendations offered by your fellow players and try them out. Maybe you sample the start of a free visual novel or read the first chapter of a manga. Reply to the recommender with your thoughts on what you sampled and you may take another choice character card! You can claim up to three additional choice cards this way.

My favourite manga atm is Brittany Hanayome Ibun! It's set in medieval France and tells the story of a girl who wants to avenge her father's death and spends a lot of time dressed as a boy under sometimes quite flimsy pretexts. The other main character is a young herald who's a bit of a nerd and tries to follow the rules but finds himself getting into various misadventures as he tries to keep up with her. There's a lot of intrigue about inheritance, noble bloodlines, that sort of thing.

I'm really into this manga because it blends a lot of things I like: French history, gender fuckery, swordfights, master/servant potential … I'd love to donate decks but I think it's just getting started (the fifth volume of the French translation is due later this year) so I'm having to restrain myself. There's no official English translation, but there's a passable version of the first chapter on mangadex.
