Hello everyone, and welcome back to Seiyuu Guess! Our host for this game is Shizuka, a rookie seiyuu who's still learning the tricks of the trade! She's been provided with a description, image, and clip of a certain character, and it's up to you to help her figure out who voices them.
Did you know that September is Library Card Sign-up Month? Let's celebrate with rounds featuring World Masterpiece Theater series, all of which are based on books you might find at your local library!
After her parents died when she was a baby, this little girl was taken in by her Aunt Dete. Although the girl was always clothed and fed, her aunt's busy work schedule meant she was often left in the care of others, leading to a rather lonely life. When Aunt Dete finds a good job in a distant city, she decides to turn her niece over to this man, the girl's grandfather. Everyone she tells her plan to is aghast; isn't that the crazy old God-hating man who lives alone in the Alps? It sure is, but her aunt has no other options, so she leaves the girl with him anyway. At first his gruff exterior seems to match his reputation, but his granddaughter's adorable antics and inquisitive nature quickly melt his heart. They spend their days basking in the beauty of the Alps and enjoying everything mountain life has to offer. Let's hear the clip...
"Come on, [character name]. Don't cry anymore."
"Why did Pichi leave? Is it because he hates me?"
"No, no. It's not because of that. I'm sure it's because winter is coming, and he went looking for a warmer place."
"A warmer place?"
"Yes. Pichi loves you, but birds can't live in the mountains when it's cold. It's much better for him to go look for a warmer place with his friends than it is for him to stay here."
"So Pichi has flown away with the other birds?"
"Yes."
"So that's why, Pichi... But then why don't you live with the other people?"
"Hm?"
"People are like birds, aren't they?"
"There are many kinds of birds, [character name]. The hawk lives alone, doesn't it?"
"So, you're a hawk?"
"Hahaha! Grandfather is not alone. I live together with you, [character name]."
"Haha! Joseph, too!"
"Hahaha! Well, cheer up. I'm sure Pichi will be back in the spring."
"Really? He will return?"
"Yes, with all of his friends."
"I hope spring comes fast! Right, grandfather?"
"You're very impatient. Haha!"
