It's April! The start of another new month! Tax season for many! I've finished filing my taxes. ♥ I would say I'm on top of things, but it's actually my dad who's on top of things. :D I hope everyone else is conquering those taxes too if you have taxes to do.

On a completely different topic from taxes, which is not a fun topic at all, this month, we have two new deckmakers, Hana and Zags! *claps* You can already admire some of their decks in this release. :) Thank you all who applied and all who expressed interest in helping! There were a great many applications. It was awesome (and even more so since I gave everyone such a short application period)! And oh so hard to make a decision. I kind of went back and forth for a good 2 hours before I could finally make a decision. :') I am hoping I will not have to call on back-up anytime soon, but I will definitely keep that post in mind in case we need back-up! So if you could keep your application up to date, that would be great~ (I don't know if screened comments can be edited?). If you have not submitted a deckmaker application but would like to, the application post for backups is open indefinitely. :D It is tagged under "mod" if anyone wishes to go looking for it at a later date.

Oh, oh, have you noticed that the website layout has changed? It's Aoi-sama time! :D ♥ Though I guess I can't really call this changing the layout since it's still the same layout. XD; Now that we have all 8 members of Colors though, we could perhaps have a layout featuring all of them one day. That would be very cool. :) Remember everyone, Design Shirocchi and Kurocchi! is open until April 22. Get those submissions of mascots in by then~. I can't wait to see everyone's ideas. I also have a half-made deck of Akai-san that's only missing around 5 images and the master badge. You all know what that means right? Submit more art and fic~!

Mm, for those of you who use TCG managers or would just like all of our cards at once, here is a zip of this month's new cards! Do people find this useful or not useful? Please let me know. :D

Lastly, another question for everyone! Would you mind seeing an animated deck? It would be of short, memorable scenes (there'd be a theme). I ask because animation might be annoying for some? :3 But I hope one deck won't be too intrusive. By answering this question, you may take one 04 character card. That means a card that ends with 04! :) (edit: This is the deck in question~. Feel free to share further thoughts!)

We have lots of decks this release, eeeee, pushing us quite a bit past the 1000 decks mark. I do believe last month's donate an extra orange or gray deck priviledge from Pot of Gold contributed to this. And all of our new members. :D It seems that Gray has pretty much caught up, Red has shot way ahead, and Orange is sadly trailing very, very far behind. (Mikan-tan cannot believe this blasphemy. Akai-san is smug in knowing that his color seems to be the most popular). So yeah. Again this month, it would be awesome indeed to see more orange decks donated. :D

I think animated decks would be neat, if difficult to achieve. (For example, how do you want to get the clip? Are we to link to Youtube? Or are we talking only clipart gifs?) Also, I would question its popularity if spread out like the Scrapbooks are. (Some Scrapbook decks are certainly less popular than others already in terms of fully collecting, so I mean that's quite a lot of work if people aren't going to take to them.)

An animated deck would be interesting for sure and would be really awesome (since I don't see it much!) but at the same time, it could be a bit much for slower internet connections maybe? It happens even sometimes even on my laptop. (LOL, can you tell I'm not a GIF fan? XD) But since it's only one deck in a thousand, I think it wouldn't be too bad! Took shocking04.

I personally have no problems with animated decks? I think they could look pretty cool depending on what you plan to do with them, and one or two here and there couldn't hurt too much. Taking Scout04 thank you~

I would ask what theme you have in mind but I'm sure you want to keep it a surprise. XD I don't think people will be disappointed since animated decks are always fun to look at and collect plus most of the people seem to be for the animated deck, anyway. You always come up with some awesome themes too. Traps theme was amazing. ♥ That's true, it might be kind of hard since people would have to use crayon and choice cards to get the decks but then again I can totally see your reasoning for it since we have a lot of decks in the randomizer.

Well, now we know it's not cute animals sadly. :')

Reverse trap still has to happen someday. XD; I have a fun time coming up with themes each month. :) I hope this theme will be fun for most, but if not an animated version, a normal version would work quite nicely too.

Oh, I hope most of the already released decks are helpful rather than the other way around. There are some of mine that I'm not as proud of. XD;

An animated deck would be under the special deck section, yes. And treated like any other Scrapbook special deck. Unless we decide to remove it from the randomizer all together. :3 Specifics for how to go about putting it together would have to be given more thought, yup.

i support animated decks, but keeping with a card theme i think it would be cool if it were an image becoming another, like irl holographic trading cards. :D my other thought would be, maybe we could get some example cards made and have a vote on whether it would be a fruitful endeavor to make a whole deck? i could make a better opinion on it if i saw it in action. :3
