Colors Chat #68

It's time to sit back, relax, and pour yourself an ice cold glass of... milk. All these games are so great and fun but everyone needs a chance to just unwind and talk. So welcome to Colors Chat!

Here, you will get a topic and you can talk about it all you want. Just listen to your heart and write what you feel like. For your six sentences, you'll get 5 cards. And you should always go around and talk to people, see if you can make new friends or old friends with new light on them or you know, just talk with everyone! It is a chat after all.

Today's topic:
The New Year! How was your New Year eve and how have the year been so far? Did you make some decisions for this year or is there some big or why not smaller things coming up this year you're waiting for? Do yo have some traditions you repeat every year between December 31st and January 1st?

Please keep all comments civil and polite. You might disagree with someone, but please do not start a flame war. THANK YOU and enjoy your weeks!

This round closes on Sunday, February 5th. CLOSED

My New Year eve was actually pretty stressful this year. I had some in-laws "visit" even after we told them no repeatedly, because the house we just moved into doesn't have enough furniture at the moment. When they left, one of them actually broke our dishwasher! I really dislike washing dishes by hand, since we have a household of six.

The biggest decisions I made for this year is to basically pay off all my debts. My family actually has no traditions beyond the basic ones, like cooking together on Thanksgiving or Christmas. I'd like to read about other people's traditions, though!

ANOTHER NEW FACE I've been seeing so many new members around lately, I'm really excited to get to trade and play the game with you. *___* You're always welcome to drop by my post and ask for some cards from my trading pile to help you get started! I hope you'll make many positive memories at Colors this year!

Thanks so much! I'm actually a returning member with a new name and site. It's just been a looong time since I've done TCGs! I'll make sure to drop by to see your cards when I have a few more cards (my card count is pretty sad at the moment).

I didn't end up doing much during the new year's eve, and it was like every other day actually. I did end up painting some stuff (up until school started again) and I resumed painting in school too (and that's going smoothly up until I realized one of my courses had more work than all my other classes added together). I actually wanted be less of a procrastinator (but lol that's going well like always because all-nighters whoops), and I'm currently still working on it :|

I used to do the countdown by myself before, but I stopped after school got time-consuming. I'm still working on bringing the joy out of work but it's only going so well...!

This New Years' Eve, I participated in many common activities such as going to large, festive gatherings of human beings, drinking muchly of the juices of fermented plant matter, and choosing a completely arbitrary time to shout numbers together and then screaming forthwith! Only to watch those living a few hundred miles westward repeat the same in about a hour! All of us part of a once-a-year, 24-hour, undulating wave of screaming crossing the entire planet! Such festivity!

The part that I enjoyed the most is the tradition of shooting gigantic explosives into the sky. We appear to be well guarded against any Bird Creatures that may swoop in to attack us from above, and the yearly ritual is a wonderful show of force. This instills a sense of security.

I just chilled and played Animal Crossing. There's a cute little event on New Years Eve. <3

So far my year's been tough but promising. Lots of schoolwork.

Honestly, all I did during New Year's Eve was watch Pokemon LPs on YouTube on my flat screen TV in my bedroom all day - except for the countdown...my parents bang on my door until I get out for that. Besides, at that point, it's usually too loud to focus on what I'm watching or listening to so I'm usually with the family in the living room by then. After that, I worked on my own TCG stuffs (mostly in the backend because I'm stubborn and refuse to use MyTCG). I played around with Photoshop.

For what I plan to do this year? I hope to procrastinate less. Another goal is getting my idol anime TCG to have at least 20 members before my birthday, but with my luck there's no way that will happen.

Actually I wasn't really paying attention to the time, so I slept in a bit! Then I woke up and had another nap because I didn't really have much to do. By the time I woke up from that one it was already dark, which meant that it was time for my daily walk around the neighborhood. Picked up some snacks, checked in with a few friends, the usual. I guess that's about as much tradition as I have.

Then I decided to take a different route back to where I sleep, since for some reason there were a lot more people wandering around than normal. It's longer than the regular one, involves a bit of climbing, AND you have to be careful if you're going by that one because there's some lady that always shouts at anyone using it, but it's not like it was really out of the way.

Not that it mattered, I guess? Because everything started exploding, and that was kind of actually out of the ordinary. I'll admit that I like poking at things a lot and getting in the way of people doing stuff, but this was different - usually things aren't exploding and people aren't screaming forever, so I thought I'd err on the side of not dying today and go find a nice dark corner to hide and hopefully get some sleep.

Anyway after a bit of searching I found a nice box under someone's house, one of MANY nice boxes, so I peed in their garden, scratched up a conveniently located chair, killed a mouse and a spider, and then went to sleep.

So overall it was an okay day, I guess.

I spent New Years Eve the way I always do: headphones on, listening to a podcast/Let's Play, and playing Pokemon or Animal Crossing to drown out any drunken revelry nearby.

I'm looking forward to the Nintendo Switch, even if it won't be a day one buy for me. I'm pretty unnerved by Mario with real humans. Bowser looking dupe as hell makes up for it though.

It's been alright so far! I just hung out at home like usual on New Years. I'm not really a party person or anything. I'm participating the MyAnimeList 2017 Anime Challenge, which I'm pretty excited about! I like their format for it a lot this year.

I did my usual, and just watched films on tv. We also tend to eat the same food every year, Uh such as like The pounds of New Years Mochi and such (but i just get excited for other stuff, not so much food. Every year there are little figures ontop of the mochi before you cook it, I like to collect them all. I like to buy a lot of the New Year items such as the bells and such.)

We had a party with friends like every year, played the Yuri!!! On Ice soundtrack and somehow ended up putting the important videos playlist on and watching it for a few hours until we couldn't stay up anymore, then watched a playlist of bill wurtz's videos in the morning.

so yeah, it was Nice

I honestly don't remember what I did for New Years Eve but I was probably just in bed in a blanket burrito lol.

I'm in a love live group and it's probably the thing I'm most excited for since I've always wanted to be in a dance group. I'm the awkward 9th member though but everyone is super nice :D

I sort of made a resolution to stop buying so much stationery but also THIS IS SO PRETTY I did end up buying more correction tape and paper clips....and binder clips... I'll try harder ;A;

I had a really traditional new year's but I liked that just fine. :) Went to go see the family and just had a cozy night. Helped with taking down the tree, ate my dad's homecooked Italian food, talked about how godawful the year had been for so many people. I mentioned my new year's resolutions, which I...have SORT of completed, at leat some of them. We poured sparkling grape juice in lieu of champagne and toasted for luck - then we cheered and cursed out the old year when the ball dropped. Goodbye and good riddance, 2016.
