After talking about this with people who are canon familiar, I've decided that this donation doesn't fit the canon couple theme. I admittedly didn't realize at the time we were talking about what's considered semi-canon on Plurk that Rei and Nagisa don't have romantic interest in one another on either side of the ship. This is 100% because I'm canon blind, so it's my bad.
