Colors Galactic Playground - Event 3

While we're all gearing up for Colors League, couldn't we use a good epic space soundtrack to make the wait seem a little shorter...?


The gist of the third event is simple: give me your EPIC SPACE SOUNDTRACK, receive cards! It's that easy.

Your task:
1) Link from one to three songs you think would be great music for the games.
2) Optionally, explain why you chose them - you're not getting judged on reasons, so this could be anything from "the Star Trek theme always makes me think of space, deep in my kokoro" to "Space Olympics has lyrics about COMPETING IN SPACE" to "I really like Funkytown and it's important for any time people are having fun."
3) ????
4) PROFIT. Each song is worth two cards, and explaining your choice (one sentence is all you need) is another two cards each. If you turn in and explain the max of three songs, you'll thus get twelve cards total - and if you do that, you'll also get a bonus crayon for going the extra mile!

1. Live and Learn - Because there is a VERY PROBABLE chance we will have to fight the Bio-Lizard. ... I do mean VERY HIGH Chance here..
2. Princes of the Universe - Because who doesn't love Queen? ALIENS SURE DONT EITHER. :') We will show them the ways of Freddi Mercury (which is also a planet. +1 for the space reference)
3. Life on Mars? - This is because after we visit (and conquer) the aliens and bring Queen music, they will want more classic music from earth. (was gonna link the Hyde ver. but hey keeping a theme here i guess.)

1. Space Jam theme song. Because I saw the title of this post and I just couldn't shake it from my head.
2. Blue by Eiffel65. Because the music video has aliens and I always picture them when I hear the song. It also sounds like it might play at a space rave.
3. One More Time by Daft Punk. I've seen Interstella5555 like four times and I always picture the blue aliens dancing whenever I hear this song (and seeing the image for this event, I couldn't resist!)

1. Galaxy Express 999 by Isao Sasaki - Because the Galaxy Express 999 will take you on a journey, a neverending journey, A JOURNEY TO THE STAAAAARS
2. Major Tom (Coming Home) by Peter Schilling - Did you order some melancholy in your space music? No? Too bad have this song.
3. Star Wars by Moosebutter - Because John Williams is the man.

1.) Temple of Time theme from Zelda! It sounds so... out there... spacey... But really, who doesn't need a 10 hour loop of the thing... /cough Play this one when you need nice concentration music for puzzles!

2.) Do Your Best! the ending from Mai-Otome. Because running through space yey? lol Whenever someone mentions space this is all I can think of.

3.) Stargate Overture! Because I'm old. And remember this thing. lol It's quite epic in places too, reminds me exploration and novelty of things unknown.

1. Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night taken from Interstellar because it's the best space movie I've ever watched and this will make you cry.
2. This remix of Pokemon XY's Pokeball Factory theme. I really like the techno theme of it.

1) The Game Has Changed - Tron: Legacy OST. It makes me think of competitions and also has a nice sci-fi feel. I can see it as the soundtrack of a spaceship making it's way through dangerous, uncharted space.

2) Enterprising Young Men - Star Wars OST. Could not resist putting a Star Trek song on here! I like this bit from the OST in particular because I feel like it really captures the varying moods of setting off to explore outer space.

3) Spring of Life - Perfume. I think Perfume's entire discography works and awesome space soundtrack, but I picked this song in particular because the MV has a cool sci-fi theme going on. :>

1. Lion - May'n/Megumi Nakajima - I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH AND IT GETS ME PUMPED and out of like, every anime op it makes me think of space the most!!
2. Cosmic Love - Florence + The Machine - aside from having a title that relates to space, it kind of gives me a floaty spacey feeling!
3. Decisive Battle - Neon Genesis Evangelion OST - okay, NGE didn't really take place in space, but it has such a good ost for space stuff!

1. Mission to the Deep Space from Star Ocean: Till the End of Time - Galactic League competition music! GO TEAM GO. It also comes from a series set in space, so creative.

2. UMN Node from Xenosaga: Episode I - This is like... Colors Galactic Games lounge music, kind of spacey and relaxing. Chilling with your team in between games.

3. Do You Remember Love from SDF Macross - What space soundtrack is complete without a classic space idol theme? Not this one.

Don't Stop Me Now - specifically because of this Super Mario Galaxy fan video that was done to it, but it's just a fun song anyway, really upbeat.

Kibou ni Tsuite - because we can't have space themed things without space idols.

Orbital Beat - more space idols! I really love this one.

Also Sprach Zarathustra - Richard Strauss because it's popularly associated with 2001: A Space Odyssey and also, it's got that super dramatic event feeling to it!

Super Mario Galaxy OST: The Star Festival - Mahito Yokota because... this just sounds like a really nice bit of music you'd hear during the opening or closing ceremonies for these kinda sports events! :'D

Kamen Rider Fourze OST: Cosmic Energy - Shuhei Naruse because, honestly, I think most of the Fourze soundtrack would count, seeing as Fourze is all about SPACE!!! (and FRIENDSHIP!!!) but I really like this one because it too sounds like something you'd hear in the opening ceremonies.

1. No Surrender, No Retreat - suite from Babylon 5. Sci-fi space opera awesomeness--Christopher Franke made some great music for this show, orchestral and grand a lot of the time.
2. Mass Effect theme. Speaking of space opera, this game also has excellent music with a great sci fi feel. It feels really akin to the B5 music, they kinda had a similar scope, so I guess that makes sense.
3. Sailor Moon Sailor Stars opening theme. NOSTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALGIA. What can I say, it has "stars" in the name and it makes me grin like a crazy person.

Venus - Bananarama because this year's theme is space and this is a song about VENUS!! ... okay technically the goddess Venus but w/e. Also who doesn't love 80's music

Defying Gravity - Wicked because there's no gravity in space and it's sort of a GET PUMPED UP AND BE DETERMINED TO GO THE DISTANCE song.

Go the Distance - Disney's Hercules typing out the sentence explanation for the above song made me think of this one. it's not really space related or competition related, but it's catchy, so why not!

Susumu Hirasawa - Aurora 3 - Because Susumu is the first person, who comes to my mind when I think of space related things and this song makes my kokoro go doki doki :').

John Williams - Cantina band - Because Star Wars is very, very important and I'm trying to fool myself into thinking that I'm original |'DDD

Space Jam Theme Song - Because OMG CHILDHOOD. This song is just perfect for championship, I guess :D

David Bowie- Space Oddity. Whenever I think of songs about space, this is the first song that comes to my mind...so even though it's not exactly happy, I feel it's a must.

The Steve Miller Band- Space Cowboy. It's upbeat, and cowboys are instinctively competitive, right?

Europe- The Final Countdown. A must have for a competition, but especially for a competition in space. It's a song that will get stuck in your head, but will make you want to fight!

Space Land, from Kirby's Epic Yarn- SPACE LAND! It's weird and out there, and sort of a little dark for a Kirby game, but it's a lot of machines and UFOs in those levels!
Touch, by Daft Punk- Daft Punk has always had a kind of space-y sound to them, and I read someone say this song reminded them of a human getting turned into a robot and then remembering what it was like to be human, which can go with the ~futuristic~ theme.
Cats on Mars, by Gabriela Robin, from Cowboy Bebop- BEBOP. IN SPACE. Also a Dandy guy but anyway. A lot of the songs from Bebop can be sort of melancholy, but this one is just poppy and weird.

*NSYNC - Space Cowboys - Because of the title, and because I am boy band loving trash and this song is actually one of my favourite songs by NSYNC. It would be fun to go flying through space screaming "YIPEE-YI-YAY"

A Flock of Seagulls - Space Age Love Song - Again because of the title and because every soundtrack needs corny 80s music.

Jet Set - Alphaville - Okay there's no such thing as too much corny 80s music. This song talks about going to the moon, so it seems perfect for a space soundtrack. I also love this song and video a lot. Those quality video editing effects, yo.

1. mugen no ai from mouretsu pirates is a COOL SONG from a COOL ANIME about !! SPACE PIRATES !! and it always gets me pumped up, it's super energetic! therefore it's super great for space olympic games. :|b

2. fly me to the moon is super obvious and cliched an absolute and classic must for all space-themed occassions.

3. sad attempt for something new (and honestly, the whole album it comes from) is a nice, relaxing, chiptune-y song that always makes me think of floating in space.

1. Break your spell by Psychic Lover b/c this was the opening for the arc where everyone went to the moon to play card games. A+ fitting for space contests.

2. If you do, I do by Fantastic Plastic Machine. It's so...bouncy. It makes me think of people bouncing around in astronaut suits.

3. Aoi Hoshi by Takanashi Yasuharu, or just Toward the Terra songs in general that remind me of space in general. There's a very ethereal feeling in how the track moves.

Nara - E.S. Posthumus
REASON: This song is very soothing, with a little bit of a kick. This brings to mind an almost floating feeling, like floating through the darkness of space with the reflected light of a glistening Earth the only light.

Exile - Modestep
REASON: Exile was originally a beautiful song by Enya. But with Modesteps dubstep remix of the song, it has a futuristic feel. Exiled to the depths of space... the deep throbbing of the engines as you speed through the unknown~

Radioactive - Imagine Dragons
REASON: For this... I love the damn song! It brings to mind images of a post-apocalyptic world in which the Earth has been rendered barren... So perhaps space is the way to go? With this song ringing in our ears!

1.Titan's Theme from FFXIV (shush i live there ok). This song has been the bane of my existence because I ABSOLUTELY HATE TITAN but I love the soundtrack and it just, for me gives you that want to HURRY AND MOVE. But that might just be the Titan trauma talking lmao ouji get out of here with your FFXIV pls
2. Pokemon FireRed/LeafGreen - Battle! Champion Rival Music - I think the quick pace of this music really gives you that epic battle feel honestly. Plus it's in the name - CHAMPION!!!
3. Glory of Conquest - I'm not choosing all these based on the titles I swear. I always tie this song to Broskander and really, what more motivation do you need than that? BROSKANDER ;;/

Considering how much I love my music collection, you'd think this would be easy. But no. *zetsubou* Anyway, uhm.

1. Through The Night - because when it comes to AWESOME SPACE BATTLES, Outlaw Star is right up there at the top of my list. And also it's a great song. *guitar solo*

2. The Real Folk Blues - as iconic as Tank! is, I think of "see you space cowboy" and this song.

3. 1 & 0 city - not exactly "space" but cyberpunk and it's also the first song that popped into my head every time I tried to think of space-themed songs by Yuki Kajiura. Rock that glitch noise.

Tenchi Muyo! - I'm A Pioneer Maybe it's not too genuine but this was the very first song came to my mind. It's a lot like Colors TCG, cheerful and fun and MAKING MORE BETTER LOVE!...and wombats. Space wombats.

Level E - Color Rangers Mostly for fun but Level E is a great anime, and...GO COLORS RANGERS!!!!

1. I'm putting Ride of the Valkyries first on this list because every event needs an epic roll out, fly, and kick ass song. Can't you imagine all the teams mobilizing to this at once and charging into the games?
2. Supermassive Black Hole was good enough for Twilight, so it's good enough for us. Also: The deep and unimaginable reaches of space are all contained in this catchy, popular song, despite the fact that it has absolutely literally nothing to do with space.
3. Rainbow Road Theme 64 is the song for everyone who wants to be super competitive this League. We're rainbow, we're all traveling in some indefinite dark space, we're all going to fall off the edge of the road at least 5000 times. Mario Kart makes friendships die, but let's all remember to love each other while we play!
