Colors TCG 5th Anniversary: Haisai, Day 16!

"Uwoah, welcome back, Hibiki and Rune!," said no one ever.

It's June! You know what that means! It's time to hit the beach! Well, in most places, anyways. I wouldn't recommend hitting the beach if you, like, live in Russia or something. And not literally, either. If you go hit the beach and like punch a rock or something, Colors TCG is not liable for any damage you incur, etc., ipso factum. Ah, I'm rambling.

Hello, Colors! It's me, Rune! I haven't posted anything since December, but I'm here to help out! I had a cool game planned but I'm having eye surgery at some point so I'm gonna do a discussion topic instead. I'm sure you understand!

Have you ever been to the beach? What are your favorite places to go while visiting? Do you have a favorite activity? A favorite beach snack, or a favorite beach to visit in general? Or maybe you've never been and you want to? Or maybe you've never been, but sand sucks, so you'd rather talk about a hilarious beach episode? Let me know, and I'll probably award with you Fivetastic16. And since you guys are kind of okay (except for A-L who gets absolutely nothing), I'll throw in three blue cards and a blue crayon!

Eh? Why blue? They're Hibiki's image color, after all. Honestly, why even ask?

This game ends tomorrow! So get your answers in quick! ..ah, I'm being told that isn't true. This game closes July 1st at noon GMT or something.

Being from a part of the world where the only good time to go to the beach is when it's cold as all get out, it's not necessarily my most favorite thing to do. But! I do like watching the ocean and eating at seafood restaurants and souvenir shopping. I also don't know how to swim so there's that.......

There are a few really nice beaches and provincial parks within driving distance of us on Lake Ontario, but we only make it to the beach once or twice a year. I guess there's technically a small beach in my hometown, but the canal is usually closed for swimming by mid-summer due to pollution warnings, and Canada Geese have taken over the sandy part of the shore, so... I haven't been there since I was a kid and didn't know any better, tbh.

My favourite beach activity is breaking out our giant water frisbee (it's made of fabric so that it absorbs water but won't sink). It's fun if there aren't many people around, but it's even better when the beach is busy, because lots of random people end up joining in the game.

i get sunburnt really easily so laying around on the beach isn't high on my list of favourite holiday pasttimes... plus, if i stay in one spot too long, the heat makes me fall asleep very quickly.

i prefer to swim, especially if i have a snorkeling mask and can watch fish. this is also why i prefer more rocky seaside areas: the water gets deeper sooner, and that means more colorful things to watch there! a few years ago i was in croatia and our hotel was just above a small cliff; there was little space to sit but so much to see underwater, it was ideal for me.

My favorite part of going to the beach is for the seashells you find buried in the sand. But I'd only go on an overcast day, I've been sunburned too many times to try to go when it's sunny out (though it still might happen in the future)

Hello, Rune! I don't think I've met you before. :o

And oh, hahaha, this question.

Okay this is somewhat awkward, because to be honest, I actually live like 2 hours from the beach, but I just... never go, lol.

I'm not a huge fan of water, but the sand is fun, I guess. Shame that I burn so easily though even with sunblock or else I might try going more often. xD

One year though, when I was a teen, I went to Oak Island NC, and honestly it was pretty fantastic. Just to hear the ocean as you fell asleep at night... hehe. :3 Was good times. Only bad part is that one day I went out during the afternoon for like 3 hours and was burned so badly that I actually ended up keeping the tan lines from it for literally YEARS afterward. ._.;; Oops.

Oh well, it's still the experience that counts, right? XD

i've sort of grown up in the "beach town" parts of my city so the beach is a really nice and familiar thing to me. i used to love to swim but lately i don't... i like to walk along the shore though! there's some tide pools and stuff nearby so it's nice to just look.

I've been to the beach a few times in the past! It helps that I live in a city where it's right by the ocean, so beaches are commonplace. I don't go out so often nowadays, simply because I hate getting sunburned. I really want to get a nice tan, though...

I love the beach and don't get to go as often as I'd like. One of these weekends, we're planning to drive out to the Outer Banks of North Carolina and do some beach-hopping. It's about a three-hour drive, but I think it'll be worth it.

Uwoah, welcome back, Hibiki and Rune! You're absolutely right, A-L deserves absolutely nothing. A-L's actually been to a beach with me before but I'm not gonna mention that.

I currently live in a city next to the sea, so yeah, I've been to the beach plenty of times. The beaches we have here aren't all that glamorous though... :D; I also used to have hydrophobia from age 10 to ~22 so I didn't really go near water before moving here. Well, now I've started appreciating our lame beaches quite a lot. Lemme give you an example.

My favorite is the Ladies Beach near our place, since it's full of topless grannies and you don't have to worry about any weird guys loitering around. It's got this grandiose dock building with changing rooms etc and stairs that lead you down to the sea... but you have to walk down a path of about a meter or two of extremely sharp small rocks. Yeah. The beach is full of rocks instead of sand. The seafloor is mainly either sharp with rocks or disgustingly mushy with clay and seaweed in that part.

But the weirdest thing is that right next to this secluded area... there's a normal beach. You know, one with sand. The beach floor also suddenly transforms into sand and clay and seaweed over there. No rocks to be found. It's an eternal mystery.

Anyway, I want to have my own beach episode of sorts. It's my dream to take my Mikorin hug pillow to that Ladies Only beach one day. You know how there's That One Scene in almost every anime where a boy chases a girl on the beach during a beautiful sunset and they both do this stupid "ahahaha~ ehehehe~ ahahaha~" laugh? I want to do that too. I want to have that Mikorin pillow tightly in my arms and run down the rocky path going "ahahaha~ ouchahahaouchouchahahahouch~". So romantic, don'tcha think. ♥

I've never been to a beach on an ocean, only lakes. I SAW the beach while I was in Japan, but never actually went. I was going to go to the beach while I was in Florida, but now I'm not so sure, what with flesh-eating bacteria running amok.

But as far as beach episodes go...? Persona 4 is my favorite. XD

Up until High School my family would spend a week down in Myrtle Beach, NC every year. One of my favorite thing to do is hang out just past where the waves break and jump over them as they come along.

[personal profile] sal 2015-06-17 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
Nope! I've never been to a beach before. It's not a disappointment to me, though, because.. I don't really like going outside (hahaha) so I'm perfectly fine without experiencing a beach trip myself. I do enjoy eating watermelon, though! And I suppose watermelon is kinda associated with going to the beach because a lot of people eat it there....? Close enough... \o/

HI, WELCOME BACK. I hope it goes well, take care on your end!

I've been to the beach, but it's been quite a long time since I've actually been there. It's fun to pick up shells, build sandcastles and whatnot, but nowadays given that the weather is pretty erratic (either BURNING HOT SUN or RAIN UPON YOUR SOUL) it's probably hard to plan a trip there either way, haha.

Ive gone to the beach often enough, but as for a favorite activity. Shopping B-) I have a very one track mind hahaha. Last time I went, I got attacked by Jellyfish, and they leave horrible welts on your body when they do, but hey stuff happens.

Welcome back, Rune!

Even though I live in an island country I rarely go to the beach heheh. I guess it's just that my schedule sucks and it's always raining/burning hot when I do have time. The sand puts me off pretty much everything laughcries...

... yeah I really am boring sobs

I love heading to the beach when it's sunny just to enjoy the sand and sea, sun tan, sip cold beer with good company *mmmmm* BUT I also like to go the beach when I'm feeling down and the weather matches my mood--cloudy, gray skies, strong winds. I love to just sit and hear the waves crashing onto the beach. it sounds weird but that's where I get my inspirations from ^^;

Welcome back, Rune and Hibiki! o/

I've been to the beach plenty of times, but I don't really care for it because it's usually hot and crowded. My body doesn't handle hot weather and the sun well, so roasting myself on the beach is less than ideal for me haha. When I do go, I'll spend most of my time in the water or reading a book under an umbrella. I also enjoy playing beach volleyball despite being terrible at it~

I have been to the beach many times! I grew up going up to lake michigan in the summer. But as an adult I'm not too fond because I hate sand, so I'd rather go to the pool :P I definitely like sitting out in the sun for a bit, but not too long because I'm pretty pale haha. But barbecues and cute little gift shops are fun :)!

HI RUNE best of luck with the surgery!!

where i live is completely landlocked, so i've only been to a real beach once, when i was 13 or so and we went down to texas for beach fun. but it was nice! there was a swingset near the coast where i could swing really high and the whole horizon was just sun and sea. that and catching a minnow in my hat (and then ruining the hat by carrying the minnow down the beach, refilling it with water every 10 feet or so, so i could show my completely disinterested parents) are some of my fondest beach memories.

that said, sand is miserable and seawater is painful up your nose. just a heads up. :(

I absolutely love the beach. I mostly swim in beaches around Lake Michigan (it's a BIG lake...it looks pretty much like a beach on the ocean unless you're at the narrowest point).

I love going to Indiana Dunes to swim and climb the dunes, but the beaches in Cape May NJ are beautiful to watch the sunset on and look for seashells. I'm perfectly happy just taking a nap on the beach, too. I don't really get to go to beaches much anymore, since the onces near me are near a big city, so the water is polluted. I wish I could.

I have been to a beach before! I don't like beaches very much though. The novelty of walking through the ocean tends to wear off pretty quickly. |Db

Beacheeees. I used to live in NY and used to go down south for vacation, and beaches were a thing, but...I never really liked beaches! I'm a not-cold-water and no-sand person. So I don't really swim at the beach, but I like walking in sand (with dry feet!) and collecting shells. Or just looking for shells. I like how warm sand feels.

I remember once when I was at a beach, I was collecting shells, and was really startled to find a little guy still living in one of them!! After that, I didn't collect seashells. Just look at them and admire them from afar... :')

There are tons of beaches where I'm from but I don't necessarily like them that much? Watching the ocean, collecting shells and snorkeling are fun, but otherwise I pretty much just stay indoors and laze around or read. Mostly because I hate getting wet sand stuck in my flip-flops lol. And beaches here get freakily crowded during summers, which is the only time we ever really get to go.

I do like the food though- fresh seafood is a true blessing.

Since my grandparents lived in Florida, I've been to the beach plenty of times! While it's not actually done on the beach, one of my favorite activities to do is jet ski around the beach. I've been to so many places and one of my nicknames is Speed Demon because of just how fast I like to go and this was when I was real little.

Also, I feel the need to link to this wonderfully done AMV.

I used to live in San Francisco so I visited the beach a TON. I don't live as close to a beach now, but I still enjoy going when I can. Nothing like sitting on a blanket with some fresh saltwater taffy and a book~
