COLORS CHAT #18

It's time to sit back, relax, and pour yourself an ice cold glass of... milk. All these games are so great and fun but everyone needs a chance to just unwind and talk. So welcome to Colors Chat!
Here, you will get a topic and you can talk about it all you want. Just listen to your heart and write what you feel like. For your six sentences, you'll get 5 cards. And you should always go around and talk to people, see if you can make new friends or old friends with new light on them or you know, just talk with everyone! It is a chat after all.
Today's topic:
Puns. Love it or hate it: give us some of the best or worst puns you've heard. Do you like making puns, or do you think they're the bane of all humour? And if you're feeling pretty punny today, have a pun-off against a fellow player!
To encourage discussions between players, there's a bonus - for every conversation that is at least 5 comments long all participants will receive two random cards. This is not limited, so talk to as many people as you wish! For this particular Colors Chat, players will get 3 extra cards on top of the bonus for engaging in a pun-off with another player! So go forth, and show off your pun skills!
Please keep all comments civil and polite. You might disagree with someone, but please do not start a flame war. THANK YOU and enjoy your weeks!

A character on the show, Hades, sort of likes to pull out puns every once in awhile. A couple of the most recent ones was a comment about a few people playing in the snow and that "Snowfall is snow joke." Of course, right before he gets hit in the face with a snowball. Another one was trying to explain the fairytale of Cinderella and her name... and completely missing the name scheme; thinking that it's a girl that's died and is made of cinders. (He's only partially correct of course about the cinders.)

However, one of my favorite KnB characters (Izuki...) loves puns and says them. A lot. And they're probably really lame... That makes me want to learn Japanese more so I could understand the puns. (But I'm too lazy to even look for some of his puns.)
I really hope no one challenges me to a pun-off. I probably would ignore it anyways because it would probably end as soon as it started; I think I mentioned I wasn't creative enough to come up with them.

Of course, an added problem in foreign-language media is that puns don't translate well. You either have to come up with new dialog whole-cloth or add a lot of notes to explain the puns. Which depends on your audience: fansubs can usually get away with the latter better because they know their audience are sufficiently interested in Japanese language and translation to care.

Let's throw down >C
One of my favorite feline fighter Ms. Fortunes (from skull girls) is so full of puns it's a real CATastrophe. I would be beary remiss not to mention my love for Teddie (persona 4).
Today will be the Dawn of your defeat, I hope you are all prepared for some truly tearable puns.

In other words, I love puns. I love puns a lot. I don't use them in everyday talk constantly, but if I can sneak one in, it makes me laugh a lot.
(And don't get me started on fish puns. I cod go all day long, just for the halibut.)

After all, you know the old saying: seven days with no puns makes one weak.

I also tend to make head jokes like crazy when Puella Magi Madoka Magica and Baccano! I just can't help but get ahead of myself, though the friends that I watch those two with always try to cut me off.

(Of course, most of them are play-on-words with Japanese words-- They're still funny though.)
I LOVE puns. So much so that my friends groan whenever I say a pun or a joke with a pun, or I laugh at people's puns and others ask, "How is that funny??" I love making and finding puns! They're one of my main sources of humor, besides sarcasm, and sometimes I can't stop making/repeating them!
To quote a lovely lady from Rooster Teeth (Barbara ilu), "[Another] one of my life goals is to go to the Nile and stand in it, and be like, 'I'm in De-Nile,' and then leave." Because I, too, have that life goal.

Pokepuns are my favourite fandom puns! Some of them are pretty clever, but I'm reading through the link and most of them fall on the groan-worthy side of things (or are inexplicably NSFW sob)
