The last week's answer was Evangelion Unit-01 from Neon Genesis Evangelion, piloted by Shinji Ikari (and Rei Ayanami alongside a dummy plug as backups), used by the organization NERV and built during 2003-2004, although it wasn't deemed functional until 2014. Bolded parts are the ones I was looking for, although I also accepted answers saying 2014 but acknowledging the process was started earlier.

What happened to Okabe & co? Maybe we will find out one day... Because now we shift over to another story, happening far away...

One rainy, gloomy day Kio was bored and looking for ways to pass the time so he went looking through the house and eventually found an old scrapbook he'd never seen before. Kio's curiosity was awoken and he opened it, only to find pictures. Pictures after pictures of Asemu and his friends back in high school and their mechanics lab... and all their guests and clients over the years. This is a chronicle of those times.





The guy who was holding this odd weapon seemed like he'd seen better days... apparently it was the only weapon that could hurt some unknown mechanical invaders. Tell Kio what is this weapon's name and which game it's from to receive three cards.
