Anniversary day 1

art by Aru!

this round is closed!

Hey guys! You know what time it is? It's ANNIVERSARY TIME! That's right, it's been three years already! Many of us (including myself) have not been here when Colors TCG was opened, but hey, that doesn't stop us from celebrating!

One thing that is special about this anniversary is that it's the first one after moving to DW. All of those posts will be copied to or at least linked at LJ, since we're still fresh after the move.

To celebrate our 3rd birthday, we're releasing a 3rd super special deck - the first puzzle deck at Colors, Celebration! Cards from this deck will only be winnable in our 21 anniversary events, so don't miss them! They will mostly involve some various discussions, so it's not much of a challenge.

To have even more awesomeness, we're introducing a special prize, same as it was in the previous two anniverary events. Anyone who masters the Celebration deck will receive AN INSTANT MASTERY (all 20 cards and the mastery rewards) of a character deck of their choice, apart from the standard mastery rewards.

The first discussion topic is your ideas for Colors! We're introducing lots of changes here, but there's always room for more. What would YOU like to see at Colors? What do you think can help us with our level of activity? What would encourage new people to join? Answer this topic to win 2 random cards and Celebration01!

You have time until June 31st, as with all the Anniversary events!

I'm really not too sure about new ideas! I mean, I like what other people have said, automated games might be nice, new games would be exciting, hmm hmmm.

Somewhat in line with what [personal profile] rujubee said, I've been meaning to put together some sort of FAQ/accessibility guide. Just something to help new players acclimatise and generally find their way around the game. [community profile] colors_tcg was really intimidating to me when I started, sheerly because it was my first online card game and it seemed like a lot to take in all at once. I guess that's about the best thing I can offer! :s

I suppose to clarify, there are a lot of things that seem really obvious to us players that just aren't apparent to new people coming in. I've had questions about the function of crayons, about how to keep a log, about whether it's okay to collect more than one deck at a time (!!!), as well as things like people not knowing about Recycled Art, or realising the value in tracking their trades and making sketchpads. I just want to find some way of correlating all that sort of information into some accessible and non-intimidating form. THAT IS MY QUEST.
