Guidelines for submitting art:
♥ Your artwork must be of Akai-san, Mikan-tan, Kou-kun, Midorin, Aoi-sama, Murasaki-dono, Tobi-han, Gin-sensei, Shirocchi, Kurocchi, or any combination of them!
♥ Your art must be in color.
♥ Your art must be at least 400 px wide. Larger sizes are lovely, as we might use them in banners or other graphics!
♥ You must save your art as either a gif, png, or jpg. Beware of transparency issues, as our gallery does not display transparency too well~.
♥ You may submit up to three pieces of artwork (you can submit more but will receive no rewards for them).
♥ Rewards are as follows:
-full body shot = 4 random cards, 1 random crayon
-upper body = 2 random cards, 1 random crayon
-two or more characters in the same shot = 4 random cards, 1 random crayon (regardless of whether or not we see all of them)

♠ The body of the fic:
The first thing Aoi-sama heard when he woke up was the doorbell.

Throwing on his jacket and clock, clutching them tightly, he figured he would get the door for the house before anyone else groaned about it. Still groggy, he grumbled all the way to the door. Whoever was on the other side was about to get an earful.

Passing through the kitchen and living room, he grabbed the door with force; his sleepiness and agitation causing him to fumble with the doorknob. Flinging it open, Aoi-sama opened his mouth, about to let someone have it when he was interrupted by two voices in unison:

"Trick or treat!"

The sudden exclamation caused him to blink and close his half-opened mouth. Was it really Halloween already? He could have swore it wasn't for a few days, at least. Of course, no one should ever dare to wake him from his precious slumber...but can you really blame children honouring a timeless tradition? He had a little soft spot in his heart for that. Traditions were important! So he couldn't be too angry.

Aoi-sama then inspected who was actually extending their candy bags to them. One child was dressed in what looked like an orange one-piece pajama set, complete with feet. There was an added green collar, made to look like leaves. A plastic pumpkin mask adorned the child's face, presumably a girl considering the orange pigtails sticking out from each side. The other child extending a plastic candy bag was dressed in a similar way, although in sweatshirt and pants, while sporting a plastic mask with a smiley face on it. Some blonde hair poked over it from under a large hat.

He was shaken back away, though, when the yellow child started to shake his bag. "Do you have candy or not?"

"Oh," he gruffly composes himself. "Yeah. Inside." Closing the door quickly, he stepped into the kitchen, looking for something to give the children. It took him a while to locate some candy, stuffed into a refrigerator drawer, old he presumes, but it will have to do. He quickly went back to the door, opening it and dropping two bars into one bag, one bar into another. This was a huge error in sleep deprived judgement.

"Hey, how come she got more than me?" The yellow child whined, shaking his bag.

"It's because I'm the cuter of the two, of course?" The orange child stroked one of her ponytails.

"That's not true and it's not far. I better get more candy, dude!" The bag continued to shake.

"All is fair in love and how cute I am." Shaking. Shaking.

"Tch. You got the better candy too. Hey, you, make with another good candy bar, okay? I'll egg your car or something! Toilet paper in the trees!" It was getting to be too much to bear.

"I always knew you'd be the first to turn into a criminal. You'll be shipped off to the slammer in no time." The bag continued to shake. His tired mind couldn't take it.

"Are you going to get more candy or not? Come on, you gotta at least make it even. I deserve one more bar. Two because I'm cuter." Shaking. Shaking.

"As if, you dolt! Guys want to be handsome right? You don't have rights to the word cute." Shaking. Shaking.

"Who cares anymore. I just want more can-"

"ALRIGHT. ALRIGHT." Aoi-sama lost it, slamming the door. Immediately the doorbell began to ring, going on and off. On and off. Over and over. This is not how he wanted to wake up after only a few hours sleep.

Going back into the kitchen he saves a saviour: Akai-san, digging around in the fridge.

"Akai-san." Aoi-sama began. "Do we have any Halloween candy?"

"Aoi? I thought you were going to be-"

"Aoi-sama."

"Ah. Aoi-sama. Anyway, we do have some, in the hallway cabinet. But why do you need it, it's-"

But before he could finish, Aoi-sama had clapped him on the back, nodding his thanks. Even though he was extremely tired, the dinging and donging of the door bell driving him crazy, he managed to find the cabinet, find the already prepared candy bucket, and bolt to the door, cloak aflutter.

Opening it quickly, the yellow child in mid doorbell-ring, he tossed a handful of candy in each bag. And then another. And another, eventually so irritated and sleepy that he dumped the rest of it on the ground. Tossing the bowl back inside, he shook a finger at the duo.

"Don't you ring that bell anymore. Don't. Don't!" And quickly slammed it back in their faces. In moments he was back in bed, sleeping soundly. Yes, no more doorbells, no more candy, no more sleeplessness.

Mikan-tan, opened the front door, holding it open so Kou-kun could come in behind her, his arms heaping with candy. While Aoi-sama was asleep and Gin-sensei was off working, the rest of the house was no congregated in the living room, watching TV. The two youngest household members almost creeped past before they were stopped.

"You two." Akai-san said, not looking away from the television. "What were you up to earlier?"

"Oh, nothing." Kou-kun replied, trying to juggle his candy between two arms to somehow hide it behind his back.

"We pranked Aoi." Mikan-tan said bluntly, chewing on a piece of candy. Kou-kun gave her a shocked look.

"Oh? How did that go." Akai continued, the rest of the house now paying attention to the exchange.

"He fell for it. Totally! You're going to have to get some more candy. Can you believe he gave us the whole bucket? And Halloween is still a week away. He's becoming a geezer."

"Mikan..." Kou-kun hissed.

Aoi-san nodded his head for a bit. When he finally did speak, all he said was "Nice."

Murasaki-dono spoke up. "Aoi-sama isn't an imbecile, and it was rude to do that to someone sleeping. Don't you think he'll find out?"

"Eh, maybe." Mikan-tan replied lackadaisically; Kou-kun escaping to the kitchen to admire his candy pile. "Why don't I let him...sleep on it?"

She left the room laughing, unwrapping another candybar.
