Welcome to Colors TCG's Advent Calendar 2015! Throughout the month of December you'll be able to participate in daily games or discussion posts with everyday prizes. Advent Calendar days will be posted everyday until Christmas Day, December 25th and all the posts will remain open till December 31st so you have until then to play!

Today's topic is... Fake Decks!

Not everyone is a deckmaker but our deck template and special deck template are available or everyone to play around with, resulting with a huge number of fake decks of various kinds created for fun by our players! Some of these are decks that could never be, like Western characters or decks using fanart of characters that wouldn't have enough art for a real deck. Some are for personal entertainment, like a special deck of your favorite characters or pairings. These can be of anything since the usual Colors rules don't have to be followed!

Show off the fake decks you've made! If you haven't made any, talk about ones that you'd like to see. This will get you two random cards and one choice special card OR two random specials and one choice character card - specify in your comment which variant are you using! You don't have to wait for me to log the choice card.

You can even make a request in the appropriate thread for a fake deck to be made and anyone who fulfills it for you will get an additional 5 random cards. Multiple fills allowed and no limit on how many requests or decks one person can make.



Like all Advent Calendar days, this post is open till December 31st

/shakes excitedly. I never really thought much about fake decks but I remember another TCG where we had "member decks" with cards containing our own fanart, so this is one I put together just now with art dating way back from 2011 :D

I.... I was making an Undertale one. And I know everyone else and there mom has probably made one! A bit jpeggy im sure, but I rezied the sprites obviously, and It was easier to make it with anti-alis then not.

Was going to call it 'Determination' but that took up too much space IMO. So Pacifistic it became. But here is both because sure...

This is really funny timing because I woke up this morning with the full-fledged idea of making a fake deck of Jack Sparrow with the name "sea turtles". It, uh. It made sense to my brain at the time. I guess.

ANYWAY I love fake decks and have made way too many of them so here they are! (click the mastery images to see the full decks)

	I'm guessing everyone here is familiar with the concept of a fictional character harem. :P This was directly inspired by a similar fake deck of Aletha's, except I think that one was just favorite characters and not a harem. But hey, when I realized my harem was big enough to fill an entire fake deck, I knew what I had to do.
	A couple people were posting fake decks of their OTPs on Plurk, so I went ahead and made my own. Clearly, what this one has taught me is that I have to shell out for full-color commissions of a few of my ships. Poor, poor monochrome Sullvaike, Valkov and Satanimont.
	I've always been fascinated with how transgender characters are portrayed in manga, so I figured, why not make a deck of some of the great trans characters I've come across? I don't know if the gradient effect is too distracting, but, well. Leaving it in black and white would have looked so boring. :P
	My stupid, kawaii husbando, and the only reason I regret that Colors is anime-only.

	No matter how long it's been since I actually paid attention to the canon, at heart I am, apparently, still a filthy homestuck.

I decided to make a deck of Peridot from Steven Universe! It was hard to find good pictures that didn't look too much alike...but I think I like the result!

If I were at all inclined toward deckmaking, I would love a personal deck for RP muses. I'm sure I could scrounge up 20 characters (anime/manga and OCs) for a full deck...

Alternately, I'd probably want to see some Western canons in deck form. Particularly decks for Transistor and Bastion, since those games have some wonderful art.

I haven't made any fake decks myself, but if I did (and maybe if I feel like rounding up images) I'd probably make them for the current run of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle comics. It's probably my favorite of all the versions of TMNT I've seen/read; it's pulling the best of every other version and mashing them up in ways that are both nostalgic and still fresh, it has a great writer who clearly loves the series and wants to do right by it, and while the artists change frequently (and deciding how much of each to include in the deck would be hard...), I've loved almost everyone who's worked on it, so I feel like they'd be fun decks, visually.

Actually, maybe I'd want to do special decks of the cast as drawn by each artist...

I'd like to see Steven Universe decks! Neenee made a lovely one up here, the colours of the characters look really good. Other than that I think most decks I want to see are something donateable unless lacking images...

Sure, I love fake decks! There are some decks I would love to see, but for one reason or another can't donate officially. Some of them are to complete my RP character mass deck, since I play a couple characters from western fandoms:



The second category is Pokemon decks as species decks instead of character decks. It allows me to use art from cards and merchandise instead of just anime screenshots. I've only made my two favorites, but might make more in the future.



I also remade one deck... I was a bit sad that our N deck was made so early and does not include many colored pictures. He has since appeared in the anime, the second game, cards and clearfiles. Since I had to collect the pictures anyway for another TCG I thought to see how the deck would look now.


And for last I have 3 personal special decks. First one is for characters I've RPd, second for favorite females and last for favorite males. I guess half of them are my RP characters too... ^^'

I love that the Colors TCG decks are based on character rather than species, but I do indeed miss some of that purty TCG art

I.... should get around to making decks hahah I've considered making a bias deck or a rp deck, but I've been so busy these days that I don't ahve time. Maybe after I get rested after traveling?

I've been meaning to make mass decks for the characters of Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go! for ages (I know what a shock right.)

I've also thought of making an RP deck and an OTP deck, although my RP stuff is all either really old or private so it'd be kind of silly.

hm, i've never really made any fake decks? i'm a deckmaker for another tcg (phoenix down~ /shameless plug) along with just trying to keep up with general activities over here, so no for-fun fake decks ;w; i guess for decks i'd like to see made, since as far as i know there's no tcg dedicated to western animated tv shows, it would be neat to have something like that? like decks for steven universe or gravity falls?

i'm not really good with graphics or collecting images, so i haven't made any fake decks. if i did it would probably be something to do with kamen rider or sentai haha... maybe decks for different colored rangers or favorite suits.

I do plan on making some fake decks...eventually. I plan on making either an OTP deck or an RP deck...the RP deck would be chronological since its the only way I could realistically sort them...

I haven't made any yet, but I keep RPing as (or on teams with) books or western tv characters and I have collections for characters I've RPed and my teams. I'd really like to fill these out someday so maybe I'll go ahead and make fake decks for them sometime. The ones I've played most of all... Stef from the Vanyel books, or Gideon from Doctrine of Labyrinths just don't have enough art without digging into fanart, though! Or maybe even then.

ahhh i love everyone's decks they've posted, those are neat. i'd make a deck with my RP characters but i get new muses so rarely i'd have to dig back to characters from years ago haha. ~lex rp through the ages~

tbh though if i did a fake deck of whatever i'm most into now it'd probably be favorite western comic characters or something. i need a comics tcg so badly, ugh. there's also a ton of western video games i love that would make rad decks, but at least i can get my video game fix elsewhere.

OH MAN, SOMEONE ACTUALLY MADE AN UNDERTALE FAKE DECK, THAT'S WHAT I wAS GOING TO ASK FOR!!! but, anyways, that aside, I'd really love to see one based off of Comic Book characters. I've yet to find a good TCG that focuses on Comic Books, so it's a dream. Characters like X-23 and Jean Grey are favorites, so just to be able to have them and collect them... that'd be nice, even if it's not a real deck. Heck, maybe I'll get around to making my own one day, but who knows??? I'm pretty lazy...

Since every month i have our usual donations and when i'm done, i can't really look at the template anymore, i don't really make many fake decks, but i remember making one of the bunnies from Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea... There was time when i would randomly make harem/ship decks for other people, like the one Raven just linked. Incidentally, i never made a ship deck for myself because i couldn't decide what to put in and what to leave out orz

But some favorite fake decks to look at are the decks from DC Comics, Marvel, and League of Legends. I don't think I ever seen a fake Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends deck yet. * A*
