Recycled Art News, and a Vote!
Good news, Colors! I have obtained access to Colors' server, which means I will be migrating Recycled Art from my own site to Colors' site, and we will have a shiny new official Recycled Art! Joy!!
The reason I'm making this post pertains to how requesting cards from Recycled Art will work from now on. We have two options: continue with the usual where you post a request on Dreamwidth and I fulfill them manually, or we can make use of etcg's trade forms. In case you're not sure how this affects you, I've outlined the pros and cons of each option below:
Request on Dreamwidth
Pros
- Familiar
- Nice and easy comment to link to for your activity logs
- Not subject to trade form failures
- Less impersonal; can be used for certain Pot of Gold Tasks (i.e. praising mod, inserting favourite song, etc)
Cons
- Slow; more work for Mods
- You're more likely to request cards others have already requested
ETCG Trade Form
Pros
- Quick; less work for Mods
- Simple to use
- Doubles do not need to be displayed, which will slightly cut down on loading times
Cons
- No comment to link to; you'll have to link to Recycled Art's Trade Log
- Impersonal; Unable to be used for certain Pot of Gold Tasks
- Possibility of Trade Form failing (unlikely)
- If you ask for a card that does not exist, the trade form will not inform you which card it is.
It might seem stacked against ETCG, but the pros of using the trade form are immense. Consider each bullet point carefully, and if you've made a decision, leave a comment below to let me know which method you'd prefer!
The poll will close on October 11, upon which I will introduce the new Recycled Art to the community using the desired request method chosen by you guys. If you vote, you'll receive two cards and one crayon as a reward! And if you have ideas, concerns or suggestions for Recycled Art, let me know.
