The Mystery of the Silver Cup - episode 1

Hello and welcome to Mystery of the Silver Cup! It's a special weekly game created specifically for the Colors World Cup. Through the seven weekly episodes, you will be reading a story and solving mysteries together with our Colors characters!


Episode 1

Kou-kun was the last one to arrive at the Ginodrome. The photo sessions he was taking part in took a little longer than he expected. But hey, no one said that life of a star must be easy. It wasn't his first time here, but he still couldn't get used to Gin-sensei's 'Let's Make Everything Huge And Futuristic Oh Yeah' style of architecture, and the Ginodrome was a prime example of that. Sure, the interior decorations have been changed to match the World Cup theme. Portraits of famous composers have been replaced with those of footballers, random tubas hanging off the walls (that amused Kou and Mikan last year so much) gave place to team flags and banners. But apart from that, it was the same old Gin, with useless monitors at every corner and lots and lots of steel.

Kou's thoughts were interrupted when he saw a strange thing approaching him. It was certainly one of Gin's robots, but bigger than most of them. It also had two big wheels instead of legs. The plate on its torso said 'FM9K'.
'Mister Kou?' asked the robot 'I'm Fathermucker 9000. I was asked by Gin-sensei to greet you here.'
'Oh, right. Only Gin could named his robot like that.' thought Kou
'He also asked me to offer you a quick tour of the new Ginodrome. Are you interested?'
'Sure, why not. It's not like I have something else to do.'

The tour was pretty interesting. Kou visited his new dressing room, the meeting hall and several other places. There was one thing that amused him though.
'Wow, it must have been hard for Gin to create this huge grass pitch. He isn't a big fan of anything nature-related.'
'Oh, don't worry.' answered the robot 'This is 100% artificial.'
'Ah.'

Near the end of the tour, Kou heard something weird. A noise that was getting louder and louder.
'What's that sound?' he asked the robot.
'I have no idea, sorry.'
After a moment Kou finally realized what that was. Someone was banging at the door at the end of the corridor. Kou approached the door, trying to open it, but it was locked. Obviously.
'Hey, how can I open this door?'
'Only Gin-sensei would have the key. Do you want to ask him for it?'
'Ah, I don't have time for this.' said Kou and just launched a powerful kick at the door, which broke in half.

And at the other side of the door, there was Mikan-tan.
'Oh, Kou-kun! Thanks for letting me out!' she said.
'Not a problem. What happened, Mikan? Why were you locked here?'
'I have no idea! It was scary! I went here to check something important but then the door just slam shut!'

Their conversation was cut short, though. Suddenly one of the many monitors in the hall turned on and Gin-sensei appeared on the screen.
'Oh, Kou-kun! You're here already! And Mikan, too!' said Gin on the monitor
'Hi there Gin-chan!' said Mikan happily
Kou didn't say anything, he was too busy wondering about how fast was Mikan able to change her expressions.
'I'm glad you're both here, but I don't have time for talk over this thing. Please hurry to my office in the main tower, both of you. I have something very important to tell you.'
With that, the monitor went black again.
'What was that...' said Kou-kun, annoyed a bit by this whole situation.
'Dunno...' answered Mikan 'Well, it won't hurt to go visit him, right?'

Kou and Mikan headed to the elevator that would take them to Gin's office, but...
'Huh? We need a code?' Mikan was suprised.
'Yeah, three numbers apparently... But why? I though Gin asked us to go there himself.'
'There is some piece of paper laying here. Maybe it has something to do with it?'
